I asked fellow veterans to recite the oath with me at a rally over the summer and I faced a ton of backlash for it – by other veterans – who called me a traitor.
I reminded those in attendance that oath is to protect the Constitution, which means all Constitutional law under the 14 & 15th Amendments, which means we serve to defend basic human rights.
I was on stage with mic and speakers and made sure all the cops could hear me.
I asked elected officials present to join in, and I delivered the oath of federal service, which excludes the UCMJ and the orders of the President meant solely for enlisted military.
The vets who had a problem with me accused me of butchering the oath as well. They could not grasp there are three different oaths to our Constitution for enlisted, officer, and federal service.
This is why there will be vets dumb enough to side with Trump.
They took an oath to something they do not understand and the military sucks at explaining.
