    From the article:

The White House has responded after a federal judge dismissed the criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James without prejudice on Monday.

U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie found that Lindsey Halligan had been appointed as interim U.S. Attorney just two days before Comey’s case with no prior prosecutorial experience. Her disqualification renders her actions, including the signing of the indictments, legally invalid.

White House deputy press secretary Abigail Jackson said in a statement, “The facts of the indictments against Comey and James have not changed and this will not be the final word on this matter.”

  2. The Federal judge did the Trump admin a favor. Comey and James would’ve dogwalked them for the world to see.

The Trump administration would be a whole lot scarier if anyone there had an ounce of competency.

  4. I actually want them to hire another hack who will take the cases and try again because they’re both flimsy as fuck on the merits. It would be hilarious to see this clown DOJ eat dogshit twice.

“The facts of the indictments against TRUMP have not changed and this will not be the final word on this matter.” Prosecute his documents discretions when he is out of office.

  6. DoJ files false charges, gets let off easy when their attorney gets busted… now they want to get really schooled for filing false charges, which has real penalties to it? Alrighty then, go for it.

Trump admin hoisted on their own petard. And that petard’s name is Lindsey Halligan.

    >White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News that the DOJ will appeal the dismissal of the indictments, stating, “This judge took an unprecedented action to throw these cases out to shield James Comey and Letitia James from accountability based on a technical ruling. And the administration disagrees with that technical ruling … I know the Department of Justice will be appealing this in very short order, so maybe James Comey should pump the brakes on his victory lap.”

Of course they’ll appeal and call this shit show a ‘techinicality”. I wonder who will even tough the appeal case as it seems this scenario is in part due to no DOJ Lawyer wanted to risk their reputations on such shitty cases.

Coming soon to a jag court Mark Kelly. Hopefully it’ll be dismissed just like this…I’m doubtful though military seems fully down for violating their oath

  10. This is one of many takes I’ve seen/read about this dismissal, and the chain of incompetence just keeps growing.

There is always speculation about bringing the charges again, and I get the feeling Comey and James would welcome the chance to charge the president and his DOJ of using the law to enact revenge.

    Smh.

They’ll keep doing this because it intimidates people and there is absolutely zero consequences for the Trump administration wasting a bunch of Judges’ time. Until one of these Trump lawyers gets any kind of disciplinary action taken against them, they’ll just keep coming back with more phony indictments whenever orange man mad.

  12. OMG if somehow through appeal Halligan is re-instated and the cases move forward, each case will still have to explain how Halligan—with only three days on the job—independently decided to pursue charges to avoid the *targeted prosecution* motions to dismiss.

“It is our position that Lindsey Halligan is extremely qualified for this position, but more importantly, was legally appointed to it.”

Never had a day of prosecuting experience. Experienced prosecutors told her they would not touch in with a 40ft pole.

  14. Even if Halligan was legally appointed, she misled the grand jury and the grand jury never saw or deliberated on the final indictment. This is what happens when you appoint someone with no relevant experience to prosecute a case.

  15. Sounds like they conspired against Comey and James to take away their constitutional rights. All the way to the top.

  16. It’s amazing how much incompetency is always on display here. Also, there is no shortage of ruling saying this administration’s actions are illegal. Too bad there’s no real penalties for it.

I don’t know what their response was and I don’t care. This is the law working exactly how it is supposed to work.

  18. Part of me is dying to see how they try to wiggle out of the statute of limitations issue with respect to Comey. The other part of me just thinks the whole thing is stupid, lol.

  19. So A) they could not find a single person with prosecutorial experience to take that job, and B) Trump’s big EO about not allowing the DOJ to be used as a political weapon was complete bullshit.

    Not surprised by either thing.

  20. Guess it snows all year round in the GOP

Also Halloween is 365, 24/7 and the costume of choice is “Patriot”

  21. No justice until every lawyer who signed off on a single document as part of the prosecution faces consequences. That’s the only way to stomp the brakes on this behavior. Make the middlemen feel the consequences of just going along with it

  22. This proves that Trump and the Republican Party are a waste of people’s time. Trump is a mess who hires weak-minded people to do his dirty work.

  23. I’d like to point out that the judge is a conservative South Carolina attorney appointed by Donald Trump’s former lover Bill Clinton.
