Hegseth is nothing but another right-wing “alpha male” who is actually just a scared coward overcompensating for their inability to adapt to changing societal growth.

  2. This is a man who was damn near first on scene at the crash site of Columbia. That’s of sense of courage that I would bet few people have.

Kelly is going to be fine.

    >“Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death,” Kelly said in a statement accompanied by a photo of a Navy uniform laden with medals, including two Distinguished Flying Crosses.

    >“If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work,” he continued. “I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.”

When I first saw the Illegal Orders video….. 2 things came to me: OMG they went and poked the bear! And the Nuremberg Trials. Please send your support to Kelly, let your representatives know you believe Trumps reaction is not only wrong but alarming. Every congressperson and senator, Republican and Democrat, need to hear from their constituents about these events. Thank you.

This seems like the kind of egregrious misstep that could really backfire on the Trump administration.

  6. imo he’s not scared because he knows that if the state goes all in and does prosecute him with this BS, it only proves that the US is dead.

    I’d release the following statement.

“Both military members and cabinet members should refuse illegal and unconstitutional orders as per the military code and US constitution.”

What a waste of taxpayer dollars – if the pentagon does investigate, all they will find is that he re-stated content found in the UCMJ.

Ironic that simply informing service members of the regulations they are legally responsible for adhering to is considered a crime worthy of death by this administration.

It would be like investigating and calling for the death of a person who said “the law says you can’t murder people, so don’t murder”. **Encouraging people to follow the law is not a crime.**

This Pete Hegseth fuckery may end up in the unintended consequence of a President Kelly come 28′. Kelly being astute knows this. Secretary of Whiskey Hegseth not so much.

  10. Trump and his crayon munching cronies have finally picked a fight with someone who will steadfastly stand up to him.

This witch hunt will indeed awaken Senator Kelly’s inner fire dragon.

  11. A better response: “Trump can take his death threats and stick them up Hegseth’s rear end.” (Though now that I think about it, he may have done just that, which is why Hegseth is spewing this crap.)

  12. If Kelly does get court martialled (unlikely), he should demand it be filmed and released. Retired military leaders will be lined up trying to help him. Kelly explaining why troops are required to follow lawful orders will be a masterclass in the “Nuremberg defense”.

  13. sunny_suburbia on

There is no bottom. To think a POS like Kegs would even have an opinion about a man who is the definition of war hero.

    I fucking hate people.

  14. Good luck attempting to discredit Kelly.

He is the closest thing we got at the moment of an American Hero

  15. areappreciated on

I feel like this is a fight a senator, wartime combat pilot(two distinguished flying crosses), test school pilot, and astronaut like Kelly would be eager to take on.

  16. Naive_Confidence7297 on

Unlike all these pathetic man baby Republicans boys. Kelly is an actual man. So fuck off pedo lovers

  17. Hegseth better be careful who he picks fights with. If he goes up against actual heroes, he’s gonna lose badly.

  18. moonwalkerfilms on

GOOD. It’s about time some Dems grew a fucking spine and stopped cowering to these antics.

  19. Let’s put hegseth in the military, he wont make it 1 day of boot camp with out crying for his mommy.

  20. There’s absolutely nothing to “investigate” so yeah.

It is just the truth that soldiers shouldn’t obey illegal orders, and that they can NOT obey illegal orders. That shouldn’t be controversial.

The fact that in this regime, it IS controversial should give everyone pause. It means the regime WANTS the troops to obey illegal orders.

  21. A alcoholic dod leader is not the best example of testing a sitting service member when his claim to fame was fox news. 😆

  22. After today’s Comey ruling, Kelly has nothing to worry about. TBF, he never did. They’re ***that*** incompetent.

  23. Hegseth plays at being fearless; Kelly is the real deal. Anyone who goes along with this charade should be ashamed.

  24. Can’t believe this is their response to a seasoned veteran like Mark Kelley… but then again, we’re talking a party and a leader who once insulted John McCain because Trump likes “people who weren’t captured.”

  25. Dude’s blasted off this planet into space strapped to a rocket. I don’t think much scares him.

  26. As opposed to 9 year Army Guard Maj Kegsbreath, Capt Kelly is a hero and served honorably unlike the former who had to leave service.

  27. He told them they didn’t have to follow orders that are against The Constitution, so are they admitting that they give illegal orders?

  28. Additional-Candy-919 on

So in one corner, we have an alcoholic racist DUI hire with Nazi tattoos… and in the other a literal fucking astronaut who has served his country with distinction…

I’ll place bets on the astronaut.

  29. Hegseth plans to investigate Kelly for telling soldiers to obey the law. Of course Kelly is not intimidated. He did nothing wrong and will win in court.

  30. XAgentNovemberX on

So, Mark Kelly, who would have been the equivalent of a Colonel in Hegseths branch of the military, is effectively being questioned and investigated by an individual of far lower rank. Didn’t this same thing happen in a few good men? What happened there? Was there an implication of reprimand when a lower rank questions an officer of much higher rank?

  31. dread_pirate_wesley on

” I’m heavily decorated career military. You’re a fucking Fox news reporter. Bring it. ” – Kelly to Kegbreath, probably.

  32. Alternative_Rent9307 on

One of their main goal is to bolster the conversation on legal vs illegal orders. Well, what do we think actually taking this to court will do?

  33. If we ever get out of this, I really look forward to seeing Hegseth being recalled back to service and court-martialed for his actions as SecDef.
