    >Everywhere you look, in other words, Trump and his people are wrecking the country. He doesn’t know what to do about the economy. Presidents don’t have a ton of power to lower prices in the first place, and people are now understanding that fact, and that Trump swindled them last year. He’s going to give Putin most of what he wants. His pursuit of his perceived political enemies is going to be massively unpopular and drive his numbers down into the mid-30s before too long if he keeps it up. And all these incompetent and corrupt henchpeople aren’t helping. The movement is collapsing.

    >And this will embolden both Trump’s opponents and those he’s had in his gunsights. Seven months ago, law firms and universities were terrified of Trump. I bet not so much now. It’s been so inspiring and important to see citizens in Chicago and Evanston and so many other places rise up to oppose Trump and his masked agents in their roundups. It was gratifying to see Zohran Mamdani run circles around him, and Trump’s passive demeanor that day was telling. Even the Beltway Democrats, or some of them anyway, are showing some game.

    >People may not hate incompetence. They may not hate corruption. And they may not hate extremism. But all three at once? It’s getting to be too much for people, and it’s a great way to close out the year.

    Unofficial poll

Who else here heard absolutely NOTHING about politics yesterday from their right-wing Thanksgiving dinner guests for the first time in years?

JD Vance and Turkeygate was straight comedy. Dude highlighted how out of touch with humanity he is, worse than failing to order donuts.

  4. Is he still promising “only the best people”? Lol.. What a sorry group. This guy is the worst hiring manager ever. He has absolutely terrible judgement and instincts and surrounds himself with shallow morons who flatter him and supposedly have “the right look”. This oaf couldn’t manage a hot dog stand.

  5. This is just a preview of what will happen when he finally dies; the infighting will be monumental

There’s still so much potential for them to harm the country.

Also the 47% of people who will live in one of the greatest systems of government devised and be convinced “destroying it all” to revert to authoritarianism will solve their problems may make any meaningful recovery impossible..

  7. The NewRepublic posts their own articles here constantly, crying wolf every time.

“I swear guys,*this* time Trump is doomed! For sure!”

    Give it a rest, guys.

I’m glad my wife and I only have each other for holidays. We haven’t had to do one of these type of dinners in a while. We both have MAGAs in our family. I kinda got loud with my brother in August at my Mom’s birthday dinner.

  9. Great! I wish them more terrible, very bad weeks until they decide to resign. I wish for them to suffer as the citizens have suffered.

  10. The walls are closing in. This is the beginning of the end. Trump is finished. Yadda yadda yadda. Don’t buy into the media’s dog and pony show. They played this same game from 2015-2020.

  11. Anecdotal is anecdotal. But at thanksgiving yesterday there were 4 of us talking. I am moderate but lean right though not a trump voter. The other three were kind of like me but a little further right. Every single one of us ripped on trump as much as the left. One absolutely said the ballroom was the tipping point for him against trump. All four of us agreed that if the democrats put someone sensible like Beshear or Shapiro we would listen. None of us particularly liked Vance

So while none of us are MAGA the point is that yes there is a path for democrats to pick up a lot of votes

However just FYI none of the four of us would listen to Newsome. Immediate write in vote of he was the candidate.

    However

  12. They will only have a bad week if congress starts to lift a pinky finger against the corruption

  13. Until they actually resign or get fired I will have plenty of doubt they are tired of grifting

  14. Not all. MAGAPutin is about to have a great weekend thanks to TraitorTrump giving away Europe to his pimpZaddy

Does Reddit get a kick back from New Republic or something? This sub is like 50% New Republic links with stupid clickbait headlines.

If they’re still walking free today, their week hasn’t been as bad as it should have been.

  17. First of all, his approval rating in the mid 30s is something for him to brag about at this point. Secondly, it would be tougher for anyone else to do a better job of emasculating his administration.
