I think the real point isn’t that we spent $300M on the president’s trips to golf resorts for rooms and security. If he went to various countries or various country clubs in the US, it would still be major hypocrisy since he criticized other presidents’ golf trips.
The real point, which is more insidious and disgusting, is all that money went to him personally. He only golfs at Trump properties, inflates the room fees for secret service agents, cart fees, food/water, etc. and we pay for it. So it’s not about us spending money on him travelling, it’s that our money is an inflated emolument, a literal weekly violation of our founding principle.

I wonder how much we’re spending on Melania. She rarely stays at the White House and is mostly in New York because of Barron going to school in New York and then of course Mar-a-Lago. She has her own Secret Service detail, and I am sure that it’s on the tax dollars dime to house them while they’re protecting her outside of the White House. It’s probably on par with how much we’re spending on your husband’s golf trips. (like the golf pun? Lol)
