I’m gonna be honest I don’t really think they’ll do anything to Hegseth but the fact that they’re even doing a probe into what he said is what amazes me.

  2. Wild how “full accounting” only seems to happen after the press drops a bombshell. Like, were they just hoping no one would notice?

  3. This is the Senate Armed Service Committee, this is a bipartisan panel, and they are looking into this seemingly illegal activity. This is what the armed service committee is supposed to be doing. I would be more worried if this wasn’t happening.

    >“This committee is committed to providing rigorous oversight of the Department of Defense’s (DOD) military operations in the Caribbean,” Rep. [Mike Rogers ](https://thehill.com/people/mike-rogers/)(R-Ala.), the chair of the House committee, and Rep. [Adam Smith ](https://thehill.com/people/adam-smith/)(D-Wash.), the top Democrat on the panel, said in a joint statement.

This leads into the chain of events. Trump starts bragging about these attacks, then Senator Mark Kelly and others pass out a cryptic PSA to the troops, specifically to the Navy to only follow legal orders, then the video drops, and now there is an investigation.

The actual order of events is probably more Senator Mark Kelly and the others who posted the PSA saw this video, posted the PSA, then the video is out, and now there is an investigation.

That is a pretty smart play by the democrats. This madness with Venezuela needs to end immediately. If there is some kind of further escalation it is going to be a terrible disaster.

  4. Like… how is ‘kill everybody’ even something that gets said in the first place?? The bar for oversight is underground at this point lol.

  5. He violated the Geneva Conventions by ordering the killing of the survivors in the water. The military violated by carrying out the order.
