He does not care about anybody but himself, he’s a narcissist. There’s no way in the world they’ll be able to get him to change his behaviour, and most certainly not because it’ll help the next guy. That’s the worst incentive to use with him.

They need to pivot and not make this about elections but make it about something far more direct to him and more immediate – legacy won’t do it, it’s too abstract. I don’t he’s capable of abstract thinking.

you need to make it some sort of gold trophy of prize he’ll get for being a good boy.

  2. The Daily Beast is clickbait. I don’t believe for a second that anyone around Trump or that supports Trump is capable of retrospection.

  3. ProfessionalCraft983 on

Well he’s never going to take responsibility himself. He’s literally incapable of that.

  4. Desperate-Ostrich707 on

It won’t register. His narcissism forces him to place blame elsewhere, and Obama and Biden live in his brain. Even if he told his aides ‘yup, I won’t’ the next time he opens his mouth and someone asks him about inflation out comes Biden and Obama.

  5. CT_Phipps-Author on

    Um…

    Why?

No, seriously, what would be the strategy if he DIDNT blame Biden? He’s not going to solve any of it.

  6. This doesn’t make sense regardless. Any “blue shift” isn’t because people suddenly decided they really like Biden.

  7. trump will never admit to making a mistake. its all AI lies or biden/obama/hillary did this or that(deflections). even when he has to act because he was blately wrong, he wont ever admit it was his fault(another bailout to farmers).

  8. Most-Artichoke6184 on

Have they just met him? Trump will never, ever stop blaming other people for all of his fuck ups.

  9. Horseshit. They all thought they were too smart and too immune to fail. Until they weren’t. Impeach, convict, and remove DJT.

  10. The GOP has been playing the blame game for so long it’s ingrained habit. The difference is that the swamp is a vague idea that can be changed to fit most scenarios, while Biden will always be Biden. Trump is just not tactful enough to take advantage and plenty of his supporters have jumped ship that Trump isn’t as shielded. Remember literally months ago when Trump said it was Biden’s fault they were all over that.

  11. Like this matters. Trump has never done republican candidates any favors, so big whoop. Plus he isn’t running for a 3rd term. So him shedding voters or support is irrelevant. He got what he wanted from people, the rest – which is him fucking over everyone – will be history.

  12. “beg” is doing a lot of work in that headline.

Mentioned? Maybe. Beg? Nah. I’m sure his sycophants act around Trump like the people did in the “It’s a Good Life” twilight zone episode. MTG didn’t and she just got sent into the cornfield.

  13. You know, I’m tired of hearing about how “it’s Biden’s fault,” but keep it up fam. Next year will be a landslide if he keeps it up.

  14. Responsible_Ladder25 on

He has a rally today about affordability, known as the Democrat hoax. 100% he will blame Biden over and over again.

  15. RedLanternScythe on

The man who said “Well, I think if they win, I should get all the credit. And if they lose, I should not be blamed at all.” is psychologically incapable of accepting responsibility for anything. Even after apologizing for the Billy Bush tape, later claimed it was fake.

  16. His small and under-utilised brain only has a few flexes and blaming Biden is at the front of his frontal lobe. He will not be able to stop blame no Biden for his own issues, guaranteed.

Jesus fuck, it’s not because he’s ‘alienating voters’…it’s because they’re fucking us, we the people, at every turn over and over and over again. All they care about is votes, not people!

Our government is fucking *allllll* of us so they can get rich or pretend to be rich on our dime.

What the fuck is wrong with our country the people are just sitting around waiting for them to take even more. All 3 branches of government have failed. Not a single one is working to make our lives better. All they’re doing is taking everything we as a nation collectively owned and leaving us with no alternative but corporations and expect us to accept they’re allowed to treat you like dirt and pay you nothing.

Republicans continue to cutting funding for or say we can’t afford: public education, public health, public infrastructure, public lands, public housing, public libraries, public radio, public television, medical research, social security, IRS, USPS, NOAA, OSHA, suicide prevention, worker rights, minimum wages, school lunches, disaster aid, environmental protections, utility subsides, renewable energy. Alllll of these things improve American lives, and we no longer have a government *for* the people.

But they’ve got trillions to add to the national debt, build concentration camps across the nation, fund a faceless heavily armed army that answer only to the executive branch, give billions to Israel, tax cuts to their wealthiest donors, gold plate the white house, build ball rooms and monuments, multi million dollar golf outings, private planes, guarding strippers, firing then rehiring entire agencies worth of people, protect rapists, persecute small groups, rename bodies of water

They did all of this in less than one year. We can’t allow them a second.

You can only lie for so long. There is point where all the bluster about the magic jobs, super affordability, no income tax, tariff and DOGE rebate checks, paid down debt, etc…well, you’ve got to deliver something at some point. The scam can only roll forward for so long. Having disgraced clowns like Bessent doing endless soundbites of how…oh…*soon…*everything is going to be amazing is a gimmick that has an expiry date.

Trump is now just claiming affordability is a scam, and inflation isn’t real, and GDP numbers…well who needs em right! It’s a gilded age for America’s billionaires though!

And to be clear, there is a core base of *incredibly stupid* MAGA hardcores. These imbeciles will never change. But there are a lot of people who aren’t hardcore but voted for this self-dealing criminal because they really bought his lies. Those people are rapidly realizing they’ve been had.

  19. Telling him to stop doing the one thing he always does? Telling him to accept blame and responsibility?

Honestly, do they have any idea who trump is?

  20. Complete_Question_41 on

It might be even too cowardly for them to own up to nothing at all after all your big talk.

Might cuz God they go low to not admit others were right all along.

  21. RoosterMedical on

Today Leavitt is lying about no soybean sales to China while Biden was President when they were in fact much higher than now.

  22. If they are doing this then they somehow still don’t know how Trump operates. It’s disloyal and he’ll start blaming them too, which he wouldn’t in part be right about

  23. Perhaps the GOP house and senate can dig deep and try to find an ounce of courage and remove him from office.

  24. Blaming Biden is his trademarked move. He is incapable of self-reflection or taking accountability for anything. And he has no business holding that office.

  25. sereneandeternal on

He will never get over Biden whooping his ass in the 2020 election.

It gave him a serious case of BDS (Biden Derangement Syndrome)
