  1. Don’t need a poll for this when Trump said it himself that people need to buy less presents for their kids this year. All while he sits on golden toilets in our White House.

  2. More accurate headline: disgraced billionaire by luck, makes it difficult for everyone else to live.

  3. Trump’s insistence that “affordability is a hoax” is a losing strategy, but the GOP are finding it difficult to diverge from Trump, which is costing them supporters.

  4. Clearly this is a struggle completely of our own making. After all, most of us already own two pencils, so it’s not really a struggle it’s just people being upset that they didn’t pick themselves up by the boot straps hard enough, they didn’t get a fifth job, God doesn’t love them and it’s all their fault. /s

  5. >Another survey, conducted by Politico and Public First, revealed more bad news for Trump earlier this week, with 55 percent of respondents blaming Trump personally for the soaring prices.

And they should blame him, he literally raised prices. I’d like to see that percentage higher, because it should be 100%.

  6. Wait, you mean to tell me that violently disappearing all those hardworking taxpaying non-white residents and citizens, imposing tariffs, creating isolationist economic policies while pissing off our trading partners and allies, threatening war with different countries while jacking up our defense funding, deploying our troops to cities, cutting our healthcare and education subsidies, commiting money laundering and crypto scams while pardening his tax evading buddies, pushing more AI data centers into communities, giving tax breaks and stimulus bailout packages to billionaires and mega corporations, getting sued into oblivion each day, trying to control the media’s parent companies and journalistic landscape, withholding allocated budgetary fundings for universities and cities unless they do away with “DEI’ and sanctuary policies, passing the BBB, promoting RFK’s anti-science and anti-medical MAHA movement, trying to speedrun Project 2025, and having DOGE gut social safety nets, grants, fundings, federal employees, departments, and services all year long didn’t lead to lower prices, lower bills, increased wages, more job and housing opportunities, and more affordability across the board for working class Americans?

    I’m shocked!

The Fed Chief was saying the other day that he thinks the number of layoffs are being underreported.

  8. Anecdata: this is true for me. We’re ramping back presents for adults this year. I have a smaller budget overall for presents, and will be giving my nieces and nephews gift cards in the same amount ive been giving for 5 years now, instead of increasing it to keep pace with inflation.

  9. He told everyone to shut up about it, that not being able to afford something is a Democrat hoax, and his economy is A+++. So that’s your answer. Anyone expecting something different from Donald Trump is an imbecile.

Donny sez A+++ economy, but you need to limit how many dolls/toys you buy for your kids and how many pencils you use…

  11. I wonder if Stephen Miller and his alleged doll playing inspired that quote last year from 47…”your kids only get one doll and two pencils”

  12. I definitely worry about the long term damage, but at the same time, Trump’s presidency may end up advancing liberal ideas. Conservatives finally have the reins and they are failing spectacularly, in a way that can’t be hidden for long.

I don’t mind as long as billionaires can buy three hundred foot yachts and several mansions. We are but humble tools to make life better for them.

You guys don’t know it but Trump is Santa, he’s taking all your tariff money and saving it in order to give it back to you in the form of gifts. God bless him.

  15. I was in a major retail store yesterday (rhymes with sprawl fart) and I thought “wow a 43 in TV for 200 bucks!” and all I could think was I came here for groceries mfer.

  16. Not surprised but honestly I don’t trust the polls. Numbers show holiday spending is up 4% this year even with people souring on the economy.

It just means more people are turning to alternative methods of buying including BNPL.

You know what matters more than polls. Getting your ass off the couch or putting down your phone and voting because your life or your wallet depends on it.

Republicans are in control of the White House, two chambers and SCOTUS and look what this has gotten us les than one year into this administration.

Oops, I shouldn’t have been so greedy. Said no Republican or CEO ever.

“Let’s hoard some wealth” could be heard being yelled from the locker room. Lots of high fives too before they disappear into private rooms with little girls.

  18. We.are.giving practical gifts this year…teen grandsons get gas cards, adult.children get nicer.sheet sets than their budgets will allow. We have asked that they return to the type of gifts they gave us when they were kids – those cute IOU’s for help with yardwork or housework. Since we are older their young backs truly are a blessing, and it takes away.the guilt that strained budgets bring this time of year.

Hey, America, why don’t you STFU and let Trump build his ballroom. Daddy knows best. I’ll put a /s for the morons

I swear the mainstream media is just determined to make him look bad by continuing to report on bad stuff he’s responsible for
