Not just lawmakers and celebrities. He is clearly unwell. The narcissist is naked, and now finally the last hold-outs, people that have been hard to reach for a decade, are starting to see the obvious.

Everyone. Every decent human being is outraged. It’s not just the elites that matter

I can’t wait to hear how Karoline Leavitt tries to defend his comments in the next press briefing.

  4. i don’t think there’s recovery for the cult. i don’t see a way they abandon this buffoon and return to any level of normal political discourse.

    they are lost

This is what Rob Reiner said about Charlie Kirk:

[Rob Reiner’s Words On Charlie Kirk Murder Echo Sadly After Director’s Death](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/rob-reiner-charlie-kirk-piers-morgan_n_693fe1c4e4b00656da3a1553/amp)

    >”Absolute horror, and I unfortunately saw the video of it,” Reiner replied. “It’s beyond belief what happened to him. That should never happen to anybody. I don’t care what your political beliefs are. That’s not acceptable. That’s not a solution to solving problems.”

    >“And I felt like what his wife said at the service at the memorial they had was exactly right,” he continued. “I’m Jewish but I believe in the teachings of Jesus and I believe in ‘do unto others’ and I believe in forgiveness and what she said to me was beautiful. She forgave his assassin. And I think that is admirable.”

This is what Trump said about Rob Reiner:

[Donald Trump Alleges Rob Reiner Died ‘Due to the Anger He Caused Others’ From Having ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ ](https://variety.com/2025/film/news/donald-trump-rob-reiner-dead-trump-derangement-syndrome-1236608923/)

    >Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social: “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

    >The U.S. president continued: “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

A grand total of two Republican members of Congress criticized Trump for this post. Two.

  8. Not to mention most human beings everywhere, everyone, everyone has a Rob Reiner movie favorite.

  9. Quick! Let’s name some streets and a holiday after him. It would be the Republican thing to do. /s

  10. No matter how much I despise Trump, MAGA and Republicans, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. There is no bottom for him or MAGA. He will not apologize. He will not see this as wrong or insensitive.

  11. Conservatives are actually defending Trump saying that they love him for being this way. Evil fuckers will cry when someone says “I don’t like Kirk” but they’ll celebrate Trump saying a man deserved to die???

  12. Celebrities and lawmakers, meanwhile, were swift to lambast Trump over what they described as “petty” and “disgusting” comments.

“What a disgusting and vile statement,” actor Patrick Schwarzenegger [wrote](https://x.com/PSchwarzenegger/status/2000605406650093934?s=20)on X.

Similarly, television host Whoopi Goldberg, who described Reiner as her friend and “quite an amazing man,” condemned Trump.

Referencing Trump’s own[ attacks](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2025/sep/10/trump-blames-radical-left-political-violence-for-killing-of-charlie-kirk-video) on critics of the far-right political activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead in September. That killing prompted reprisals from the White House against those who cited Kirk’s history of hostile rhetoric [toward ](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/11/charlie-kirk-quotes-beliefs)immigrants, women and other marginalized groups. And Goldberg [said](https://deadline.com/2025/12/whoopi-goldberg-rob-reiner-donald-trump-the-view-1236648825/): “I don’t understand the man in the White House. He spoke at length about Charlie Kirk and about caring, and then this is what he puts out. Have you no shame? No shame at all? Can you get any lower? I don’t think so.”

Meanwhile, California’s Democratic governor Gavin Newsom [wrote](https://x.com/GavinNewsom/status/2000607512245240275?s=20) on X: “This is a sick man.”

Echoing Newsom, US House member Maxwell Alejandro Frost, a Florida Democrat, [said](https://x.com/MaxwellFrostFL/status/2000596665938661426?s=20): “What a despicable piece of garbage.”

US senator Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat, similarly [said](https://x.com/ChrisMurphyCT/status/2000610302396604726?s=20) of Trump: “He’s just lost it. Now saying Rob and Michele Reiner caused their own murder because they didn’t support him. So sick.”

US House member Zoe Lofgren, another California Democrat, [called](https://x.com/RepZoeLofgren/status/2000597970648187162?s=20) Trump’s comments “a new low for this petty, hateful man”. Lofgren added: “His party needs to condemn this.”

Similarly, US House member Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, [wrote](https://x.com/RepMTG/status/2000597575901327850?s=20): “This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies.”

Greene also seemingly alluded to Nick Reiner’s past experiences with addiction and homelessness, writing, “Many families deal with a family member with drug addiction and mental health issues. It’s incredibly difficult and should be met with empathy especially when it ends in murder.”

Greene’s fellow Republican US House member Thomas Massie struck a similar chord. The Kentucky representative [said:](https://x.com/RepThomasMassie/status/2000597616674193616?s=20) “Regardless of how you felt about Rob Reiner, this is inappropriate and disrespectful discourse about a man who was just brutally murdered.”

  13. Yes, average people mocked Kirk’s death, but not a single leader/politician did, not Reiner himself. you expect leaders to be above the fray and to have decorum. Sadly no one expects that from trump.

The only emotions Trump can experience are hatred and rage. That’s it. He’s a singularity of hunan darkness. In some ways he deserves our pity.

  15. At some point, constantly being the biggest possible piece of shit HAS to have some kind of consequences, right?

  16. Guys been an asshole his whole life far before even sniffing politics. You can thank that devil Roy Cohn for forming this guys ego

  17. we_are_sex_bobomb on

Well it got him what he wanted, which was to make a big news cycle about a tragic double homicide all about himself instead.

  18. And the outrage is all on the left. Maga and the conservative subreddit are defending him. They think it’s just he saying the truth because reiner had sad bad things about him.

  19. It’s not so much that it’s surprising; this is Trump, after all, and no one, no one at all, expects any better from him.

It’s the shuddering horror of the slow reveal of his evil. Despite it all building into a monstrous web of hideously depraved cruelty directed against all that’s decent and just in the world, the continuing support he gets from his followers, who know better, and pass me on the street every day.

  20. That’s the point, right? Only a few more days until the Epstein files won’t be released. The distractions will only get worse.
