I really hope that whatever Democrat gets in next bulldozes this shit on day one and rebuilds the East Wing. What a fucking circus.

What this really means: We need to hurry up work so we can entertain terrorists and bribe foreign agents to maximize our earnings.

Everything to him is a national security matter so that he can use his magical Article II powers which, according to Trump, allows him to do whatever the hell he wants.

Destroying the East Wing without going through proper protocols created a security problem. That’s very different.

  5. Honestly, this stupid ballroom is one of the least sinister and damaging aspects of his agenda, and it’s probably going to be torn down in 3 years anyway.

If it keeps grandpa distracted until the House can take his keys away, it might not be the worst thing in the world.

If there’s anyone here who still doesn’t know why Trump did this, it’s because he never had the authority to build the ballroom. Anything done unilaterally without congress (and illegally), they claim an emergency related to national security. It’s the same justification used for tariffs and for blowing up federal unions. Until the courts start calling him on his bullshit, he’s going to keep going back to that justification.

  7. Everything is an emergency. Everything is national security. Everything is an exception to the rule, if it benefits the regime. Its exhausting.

Which just underscores how completely *wrong* it was to go about it the way they did.

Just hire some folks to show up and start demolition? No planning? No review? None of the required and well established steps taken?

Yeah, I get they are incompetent but again, that just underscores how *very wrong* the whole scenario is.

The hearings on the demolition of the White House by the regime are going to go on for at least as long as the Benghazi hearings, if Congressional Republicans will actually allow Congress to investigate something real for a change.

  10. This means it’s going to be chock full of bugs from other nations, especially Russia and Saudi Arabia.

  11. The only true matter of national security is removing Trump from office by any means necessary.

I don’t know what’s sadder. The fact that Trump was elected, or that we’re allowing him to continue.

At a certain point this becomes our fault. It doesn’t matter who we voted for or how many useless protest signs we held up. We’re watching authoritarianism take over while we do nothing.
