denying healthcare coverage to millions of americans while he plans dinner parties and golfs. thanks orange crush. now you’re literally killin it.

  2. It’s almost like if you have no leverage because of the shutdown, then the Republicans will run right over you and lie all they want.

    >House GOP leadership aides told reporters late last week that they expected some sort of amendment vote on the expiring subsidies, but a source familiar told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that those talks fell apart due to disagreements over how to cover the cost of an extension.

A 2% Oligarch surtax ought to cover it. There, I said it..

  4. that comment section on the article is full of ‘hot takes’. Like the whole “why should my taxes be paying for someone else’s healthcare?!” and it’s like… dude, what do you think paying insurance is. You aren’t giving insurance companies money for your own personal spending pool, you are literally giving them money so they can pay for other people’s health care costs. They don’t ever seem to grasp that concept.

  5. Oh they’re erupting? How about signing a discharge petition? Or voting to remove the Speaker? Or doing anything other than whining like impotent man-babies? No? Moving on.

  6. I am at the point where I literally laugh out loud at the fact that the term “moderate Republican” is still being used

  7. Man the Fox News comments are coping hardcore, and of course still blaming everyone and everything instead of the party that’s in power.

  8. Republicans want you to be broke. That’s why they won’t help you with student loans, taxes, and medical bills and debt. If you’re not a straight, white, Christian man, or in the 1% the GOP fucking HATE you and you’re in their way.

There is no such thing as a ‘moderate’ republican. There is, however, an upstate NY coward who is up for re-election in 2026 who can read polls.

    Just do what Australia does:

if you don’t have private health insurance you pay a 2% Medicare levy on your taxable income and Medicare takes care of you.

All the Republicans can still buy insurance from companies making 20% profit to deny care if they want.

But by default everyone is covered and contributes to the system.

  11. I hope they all lose their seats over this. These Republicans only care about how they look, not the health and welfare of their constituents.

  12. Lawler is my congressman. More performative bullshit from this prick. He’s out on his ass next fall.

  13. Ah yes. Lawler doing his best “very concerned” impression for the constituents back home. 🙄

  14. I know this is Republicans doing shitty stuff, but I can’t help but think about the Senate “Democrats” that didn’t hold the line on this. Fuck those people too.

He’s desperate to keep his congressional seat next year. Don’t be fooled: Lawlor is as right wing as the rest of the GOP. He kisses Trump’s ass on command and by instinct. He doesn’t give a shit about ordinary Americans.

They got nothing. Tax cuts for billionaires leaves no funding for the poor. They are counting on them being stupid enough to not hold them accountable

  17. Mike Lawler is not a moderate. He is a Trump loving bootlicker who is playing a part to try to save his own ass in the midterms.
