  1. Donald Trump Jr. has declared that the old Republican Party is dead, and that his father now leads the “America First Party” and the “Make America Great Again Party.”

Speaking on the final day of Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference, the 47-year-old discussed how to continue the legacy of the group’s assassinated leader, Charlie Kirk, while lashing out at anyone who dares to criticize President Donald Trump or the MAGA movement.

“We have to stay involved. We have to stay in the game. Midterms are coming around the corner, and make no mistake, the Democrat Party wants to do whatever they possibly can to shut this movement down,” Trump Jr. told the crowd.

“Not just the Democrats. The RINOs [Republicans in Name Only]. You see the manufactured attacks on JD [Vance], myself, my father—anyone who understands that this isn’t the Republican Party anymore. It’s the America First Party. It’s the Make America Great Again Party, and we are not going back.”

  2. For anyone thinking that Trump Jr. actually spoke out against his demented pedophile of a father…that is not what happened at all. All he said was that Trump had remade the Republican party into the “America First” or “Make America Great Again” party-in other words, the MAGA party. He did not speak out against Trump-this statement, like every other he made at the conference, was in full support of Trump and MAGA. It’s just the Daily Beast’s stupid headline that makes it seem like Trump Jr. said anything against his dad.

Four words for that-fuck The Daily Beast.

  3. All I want for Christmas is a world where I will never have to hear or read or watch anything about or by any Trump ever again. Is that so much?

  4. FalseAccuser61 on

The party has changed for good . it’s all about one person now. Trump took over and his son is just admitting what we all know.

  5. The GOP higher ups have made a massive blunder that will last decades imo. The Republican Party and its higher ups were doing just fine when its whole shtick was cutting taxes for the rich, deregulating the federal government, hawkish foreign policy, and denying climate change.

Now, they have gone so far to the extreme right on every issue, and it all rests on the image and notoriety of a 79 yo dementia patient with a new stroke every few weeks. This is not sustainable.

The GOP right now is Trump. He gets asses to the polls, and he ensures media capture. How the fuck is the GOP going to defend their heinous shit once Trump’s giant presence is gone? Vance and Rubio have the charisma of a DMV employee, and they aren’t even well loved or liked by their own base.

If the GOP had nipped this in the bud after the Jan 6th insurrection and banished Trump from the party, they’d at least have some semblance of credibility with more moderate voters.

Everything is out in the open now. Trump rode on Obama’s economy during his first term, but he can’t do that anymore, and he’s made America’s economy a fucking train wreck. Even MAGAts admit this.

The wave of resignations isn’t a coincidence. Republican politicians see the blue wave coming, and they know they’re fucked. If there are this many resignations by Trump’s first year in office, imagine what the next three years will bring!

Watching this unfold from across the pond, it seems more like the final push
The republican party has gone downhill for a looong time… I mean… trickle down economy wasn’t a brilliant plan either

  7. BulletProofEnoch on

If you’re really paying attention he’s trying to hijack America First (Marjorie, Tucker, etc) now that the MAGA thinking is self destruction

    He’s being slick here

How sick and weak must the GOP have been for Trump to take it over like that?

Trump joined the party in 2015; no political experience, never held ANY elected office before,…and by 2016 he was running the GOP with an iron fist as the absolute unquestioned ruler of the party. All the long-time party members and life-long Republican loyalists who spent their entire lives building the party and jockeying for leadership positions, all simply bulldozed out of the way by Trump in less than a year.

The Republican party had to have been a dead empty husk at the time for that to have happened.

Amazing, really, from a political science/historical perspective.

  9. Apart from peaking out from behind his father (like his brother) what has he done positively for society or the world?

With his access he “could” have made his name, done positive things, rather than being a capo for his father. Rich, spoilt and privileged what a failure.

    Genetics also failed again.

  10. CurrentlyLucid on

trump has really taken the mask off the evil doers in this episode. The GOP will never be seen the same way after trump.

  11. Express_Remote4647 on

He did a bit more than that.

The US will remain a pariah until the Trumps and their influences have been erased from history.

  12. “*If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed…and we will deserve it.*” -Lindsey Graham, May 2016

What a prophet. What a prophecy.

  13. Umami-Ice-Cream on

I will always remember how the rest of us were treated. How minorities were targeted and blamed for everything under the sun.

I will remember the lying. Gaslighting. Bullshitting. Cutting social services. Denying food to those in need.

The GOP is dead to me.

  14. RonaldMcDaugherty on

Daddy still hates you Jr. He only came into your playroom because your sister was there too.

  15. He won a crowded primary because Republican voters preferred him, which says a lot about voter anger and government failures like the GFC, endless wars etc.

In 2015 the GOP had weak leadership, a fragmented establishment and a primary system that rewarded outsiders. Trump exploited those conditions, but he didn’t create them.

  16. He’s right.

Whoever is their nominee after him will quite literally be an employee of the Trump corporation.

The Republican Party is dead tho

  17. To have a Make America Great Again Party implies they hope it would be around for quite a while, but wouldn’t that imply repeated and ongoing failures to make America great? Wouldn’t it be the same to call it the We Failed to Make America Great Last Time and the Time Before That, But Seriously We’re Going to Keep Trying and Failing.

If your party is the Make America Great Again Party, if you ever Made it Great, it would mean the dissolution of the party. Ipso Facto the only way to Make America Great Again is if the Make America Great Again Party ceases to be.

  18. The Republicans destroyed the Republican party when they tried to spin off the loons to the Tea Party. Then the Tea Party took over. Trump didn’t really change shit. The Tea Party was already a streaming pile of shit but it’s the same steaming pile of shit as before Trump took over.

  19. > My advice to other conservatives disaffected by MAGA is this: If you’re under 45, stay in the Republican Party and work to make it a healthy, multiracial working-class party. If you’re over 45, acknowledge that the GOP is not going to be saved in your lifetime and join me on the other side.

comment by David Brooks, who was in recent epstein photo, but at the time of 2024, was one of influential columnist.

nonzero chance we might witness the death of 200 year old political party.

  20. and the DNC will use this as their excuse to go after the traditional republican diaspora votes in 2028 instead of progressive or working class electorates because fool me two times, you can’t fool me again 🤡

  21. scrotalsmoothie on

I want to think that in making this statement, two things could happen:
    1. True establishment Republicans sit out of voting in midterms, or vote for nonMAGA candidates, and/or
    2. Pence’s organization gains steam and works to get rid of Trump, thus fracturing MAGA.

Either way, Jr’s statement doesn’t help Trump. And until Vance separates himself from Trump, he doesn’t have a chance either. MAGA brain cell can’t handle the number of options.

  22. clown world where Don Jr. says “we are not going back” in reference to the MAGA party, taking a Kamala Harris slogan

  23. Natural_Weather5407 on

Well Trump did say in the 80s that if he ever ran for president he would run republican because they are easier to deceive. It’s probably part of his plan. 🤷🏻

  24. HandsomePistachio on

Shit headline. That’s not what happened.

At this point I’m about to start blocking anyone who posts a Daily Beast article.

  25. DrunkenDognuts on

And, along with the help of the heritage foundation the Supreme Court and a complicit Republican Party he’s going to destroy the United States.

    This is absolute insanity.
