In trump admin, the coast guard and national guards are taking the front seat while the traditionally main character (army, marine, navy, air force) take a back seat. It is actually pretty interesting to see how it would turn out.

I understand Bella 1 tanker is ghost-flagged and hauling empty, but the Coast Guard still needs Maritime Special Response Team backups because one cutter plus a helicopter isn’t enough muscle to arrest a moving metal island

Sooner or later there’s going to be an “incident” with seizing these tankers. Someone will get killed or a tanker could be damaged spilling oil into the ocean and causing an environmental disaster. The UN and the GOP needs to get more involved because these actions including enforcing a Naval blockade is frankly an act of war. The GOP needs to pull their heads out of their asses because it’s obviously no longer a war on drugs as the excuse Trump used. It’s about regime change pure and simple.
