Wonder if the beef prices are going to go down since demand is going to go down?

I’m very cynical about these kinds of stories these days. Before I can care I’d like to know *who* would not be making that $1bn, and how much lost tax revenue this would cause. Business cry poor immediately when anything threatens profit but they are never clear about actual human or societal impacts.
I don’t know much about the Australian beef industry though, whether this is hurting the people on the land or whether we’re just talking a smaller number in some corporate account book.
