As someone not in the US….$7.25 sounds ridiculous.

United States $7.25

Hey anyone remember the last time this was put up for a vote back in 2021 and Kyrsten Sinema mad a big deal of putting her thumb down so that min wage wouldn’t go up.
We could of had a 15$ min wage back then, but of course the millionaires in congress that do the bidding of the billionaires made certain that it wouldn’t happen.
I think we should make it so that congress gets the same healthcare as the average person and only gets paid min wage. Then we would see it go up real quick.

Here’s a weird idea:
Tying the minimum wage increases to Congressional salary increases. So an X increase in congressional compensation means the same X increase to minimum wage?

And that’s probably only if you’re legal.

Only 1M Americans make the federal min wage and most are new to job market and quickly get a better job once they’ve learned skills

> The mean minimum wage in those 19 states will rise to $14.57 in 2026, up from $13.90 this year.
That would have been “just shy of an improvement” 20 years ago when the push for $15 started.

The real disgrace is being the only developed nation without universal healthcare.

That’s a good thing. Each state should figure out what minimum wage is best for it. A one size fits all approach doesn’t work all that well with such varying standards of living.

Americans, we know you have no backbone, but just don’t work for $7.25. I spend more than that sitting on my couch.

Fresh meat, fruit and vegetables costs more than federal minimum wage. Government needs to prioritize the people

This might as well be zero, and they know that.
It’s not that Republicans don’t want to raise the minimum wage. It’s that they *don’t believe in a minimum wage.*
We aren’t dealing with good-faith actors. They are obstructionists and absolutists, and all you can do with them is vote them out.

Is pennsylvania on that list???
And what will they raise it to 7.35?

Republicans: You can’t raise minimum wage! Costs will go up!
Everyone else: So the fact that costs have went up exponentially without minimum wage being raised means wages should be raised right?

The federal minimum wage is designed to keep southerns poor and minorities in poverty. Same reason we have tips at all is racism. Have your customers pay your black wait staff with tips so they can be as shitty as they want and you can skim their money. It’s fucked.

And to be clear, just about every one of those states’ current/new minimum wages are still a disgrace no individual can actually live off of.

& Pennsylvania still at $7.25 because of our Republican majority Senate.

This is how the rich get richer. They run multi billion dollar companies paying the workers next to nothing with little to no benefits. Some of the richest companies in the world pay part time workers near minimum wage.

It seems like this should be an easy political win. Even if we don’t raise it to $15 or $20, just raising it to $12 would be enough to end the 17 year streak of no raises. Keeping it at $7.25 just reminds us that the DC politicians don’t value the American workers.

Conservatives don’t realize that if you raise rages, it won’t drastically increase prices. Up until the 2000s, wages increased along with inflation, stuff still got more expensive, because it always will be. If you double the minimum wage, your groceries won’t cost twice as much.

Sadly this is what Americans voted for. Also the people that could vote and didn’t are responsible too.

Here in Georgia it’s a whopping $5.15 so the federal one sounds pretty generous.

This always amazed me. Seeing those posters in the break room and wondering what kind of monster would do that to employees.
For reference. Here in Kansas City, the KS side state minimum is $7.25 while right across state line road in MO, it’s now $15.
