  1. They see the writing on the wall and he’s been told to dial it back. He’ll change his mind in short order.

He’s doing it because a judge said he can’t use them. He would’ve kept going probably if it wasn’t turned down

The feds are retreating on the Guard deployments for now after courts blocked a bunch of the troop orders. Trump claims credit for lower crime and threatens a comeback, but this feels more like a legal defeat turned PR spin.

National Guard withdrawals are happening because legal challenges kept trying Trump’s deployment in knots, Supreme Court and federal judges kept saying he overstepped authority, so now he’s saying “well be back if crime spikes.” Politics meets military theater

I still cant believe Biden put troops in US Cities.

*Tell your friends to pass it on…* 🤫

  6. What a way to end 2025. He caved to Putin on the Venezuelan oil tanker, Epstein scandal just got bigger, and he’s retreating on national guard deployment…..oh and his team has put dementia meds in aspirin containers. He said he’s taking more than the recommended dose of aspirin

Only after the courts ruled against you…

This has the same energy as, “you can’t fire me because I quit!”

    What a petulant, insecure loser.

he isn’t “doing” this. he’s being forced to because it’s fucking illegal. do not let people frame these sorts of things like this, it is intentional when media outlets do it.

The Guard’s gone but ICE has insane funding with none of the regulations, background checks, or standards the Guard has to follow

  10. Nice, let’s roll out the old Bush mission accomplished banner to wrap whatever the fuck the dumb mission was this time.

  11. They served their purpose: piss off the liberals and distract people from all the shady behind the scenes business deals. Prwpare for round 2 of deployments as the midterms get closer.

Yeah, he’s removing them because he needs to send them to Venezuela to go steal the oil for Iraq 2.0

  13. He’s been told that he had to remove them (from Portland, at least,) so he’s just acting like it was his idea to save face.

    He’s such a child.

  14. Most likely because real, non-partisan legal minds informed him what to really expect while he’s still in office, in terms of the legality and/or optics of further whimsical and pure politically motivated National Guard deployments.
