Forgive my outsider’s perspective – but it just feels surreal that Mr. Trump could do such a thing and in any fashion veil it in the language of the law, when – in the eyes of millions – he himself appears himself an arch criminal who only a few years ago attempted to violently overthrow the American government.
Some will of course retort with a list of Mr. Maduro’s own crimes, I suppose, as some manner of justification? But the crimes of one do not wash out the sins of another.
One rather gets the feeling that this entire spectacle was a case of one monster eating another, nothing more.
