Trump is a symptom of a country that has lost it’s soul. Just as in Argentina, the upper and middle classes here have sat back and let it all unfold, thinking that they won’t be touched. That is, they didn’t until their economy literally collapsed under their feet because of authoritarian meddling with the currency–like Trump is trying to do here by the way. The America I grew up in is long gone. We’re a country run by billionaires who own the media to keep everyone ignorant and focused on pitting one tribe against the next in order to distract away from their political and institutional violence. We are a nation of cowards now. A nation of people who know that what is happening right under our feet is utterly, plainly, morally wrong, but do nothing.

>I have to say it very directly to the United States: It makes absolutely no sense to talk about the need for the United States to take over Greenland.
>The United States has no right to annex one of the three countries in the Danish Realm. The Kingdom of Denmark – and thus Greenland – is part of NATO and is thus covered by the alliance’s security guarantee. We already have a defense agreement between the Kingdom and the United States that gives the United States wide access to Greenland. And we in the Kingdom have invested significantly in security in the Arctic.
>I would therefore strongly urge that the United States stop the threats against a historically close ally and against another country and another people who have said very clearly that they are not for sale.

Why not ban them formally from entering the country and consider them criminals

Seems like the US government wants to go to war with pretty much everyone at this point. They should take the hint from the war in Ukraine that going to war with people that are on par with you technologically is a bad idea, even if you have the upper hand on paper.

Trump is delusional if he believes that he “conquered” Venezuela by simply removing Maduro. The group that shared power with Maduro is still intact, and they control the military.
Skipping right over to Greenland is a bit premature, even by Trump standards.

Well the US can take Greenland whenever they want. International law (words on paper) does not necessarily deter the folk with the strongest military in the world.

Good thing Denmark condemned Trumps kidnapping of Maduro unequivocally right?

You know… maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the whole world to come together and go to war with the US… setting their differences aside

What a weird situation to be in. When NATA was formed it kept us safe from countries like China and Russia with the fear of knowing if those countries ever attacked they would have to face a great power of unified countries banded together as allies. But this… this was never planned for where one of those NATA nations we though was an ally has gone rouge threatening other members. We have no contingencies for this. Does NATO protect say Canada or Greenland or any other Allies against the US who is also a NATO member? I fear the answer is NATO would just try to use diplomacy, sanctions or whatever economical pressure to punish the US in this case due to it’s overwhelming military strength leaving those NATO countries to try and protect their sovereignty much like Russia has with Ukraine.

The whole NATO force should push them back and then take chubs to France for his indictment on 50+ crimes just this year. No statute of limitations there.

What I’m hearing is war crimes charges and someone should snatch up Trump and send him to the Hague.
I mean, he said it’s fine.
