> Leonard Sandiford was running away from police in Woodford Green…
So a result of his own actions then.
Edit: To those insinuating that I’m justifying the police response, I’m not. I don’t know if the police were in the right, nor do I care. What I do know is that this guy made poor decisions in sound mind which lead to his own demise. I struggle to feel sorry for people who have lack of respect for other members of society and decide to commit crimes which negatively impact the lives of hardworking law-abiding individuals.

Assuming it’s an electric wheelchair whenever he sits in it?

I don’t envy police because they really have to make split second decisions that may change course of their or someone else’s lives, and usually when there’s a case of police overusing force, I’m actually on polices side, but this one? Yeah, pc fucked up.
I don’t assume his intention was to ruin the life of this dude, and I am sure that if he had to make this choice now, knowing what he knows, he wouldn’t fire. I don’t think this police officer should lose his job over this, but also, it’s clearly his fault. Obviously, the detainee shouldn’t have ran but shit happens.
Also, they didn’t specify whether he was found guilty of attempted burglary or not, so I’m not too sure I believe his sob story that he got scared

What on earth is a 61 doing climbing up buildings at his age?

Shouldn’t be acting like a knob end and wouldn’t get tasered

I thought they could only taser people when they’re in danger.

Funnily enough I’ve gone 36 years of my life without being tasered.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Why is anyone sympathising with a burglar who then tries to run away from the police? If this was your house, or your mother’s house, then you’d maybe understand why he got what he deserved.
