  1. We will ‘fondly’ remember Marjorie Taylor Greene’s term in office as one in which she aggravated and irritated literally every single politician in Congress, without any exceptions.

  2. YouWereBrained on

Keep hearing about this “slim majority” yet they continue to fall in lockstep when need be.

  3. Agreeable-Rooster-37 on

side note: Has Mike Johnson weighed in yet on Venezuela, or has he not seen it?

  4. SilverMembership6625 on

lame duck potus ahead of schedule

anyone who thinks another reconciliation bill is being passed this year is insane lol

  5. I’m actually surprised lawmakers have not been removed from their positions and jailed like maduro. Then there were no issues with the majority.

  6. After-Smoke-3971 on

lol I guess she was bullshitting about bringing a resolution to remove Mike as speaker

  7. Brief-Bath-422 on

I guess that will open the door for some bootlicking Democrat to get invited to Mar-a-lago!!!

  8. KaptainKardboard on

Hoping Boebert follows suit, given reports of how soured she is by Trump’s political punishment of Coloradoans

  9. Now would be the time for a Republican house member to protest Trump’s destruction of the Constitution by siding with the Democrats to elect a new speaker. The fact that none are making this move is proof that they ALL put party over country.

  10. > With her departure, the partisan breakdown in the House will stand at 219 Republicans and 213 Democrats, with three seats vacant. As a result, Johnson will only be able to lose two Republicans on any party-line vote — needing the near-unanimous support of his party to advance legislation.

  11. Once the U.S. defaults on some serious debt, that red part of the house will evaporate.

  12. Ecstatic-Trouble- on

I think “house leader” is a bit too generous a title for Mike since he’s not leading anything but kow towing to Trump’s every whim.

  13. NeverLookBothWays on

Now we just need to kick out and replace Henry Cueller, the one Texas Democrat who messed up the vote to restrict Trump’s advances on Venezuela. The one Democrat Trump had given a blanket pardon for bribery charges just a couple weeks prior.

  14. And yet, I haven’t heard a single Democrat attempt to bridge a few Republican reps into the necessary steps to stop any number of Trump’s prerogatives.

With the Epstein files, for example, multiple Republicans already broke ranks to enforce their release. Where is the push to impeach Bondi or Patel, to check Trump’s attack of Venezuela, to impeach Noem for violating state sovereignty multiple times, etc.

The Democrats appear to be following the, “Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake” meak approach that got us into this mess.

  15. Makes no difference, they lost the last big vote by 2 with 1 dem voting with the gop and 4 not voting. National Dems are a false opposition party that are completely spineless

  16. The House needs to vote him out before an impeachment vote so that he doesn’t ascends to the VP office

  17. Equivalent-Battle973 on

Wasnt margy gonna setup a vote to remove him as speaker before she leaves? Well she has one more day to do it…

  18. So MTG is actually resigning. My headcanon, is that the one thing in her career that should be emphasized was

    > Jewish space lasers.

After you get through the eye-roll inducement, consider the adjective she used there : Jewish. There was some lingering anti-semitism boiling underneath.

Anti-semitism in the House or the Senate can be quite deadly to a political career.

  19. Except MTG was one of the people most likely to oppose Johnson so it isn’t really a loss for him and her replacement will more likely toe the line.

  20. BarbarianCarnotaurus on

I wonder how many times he will either recess or drive to shutdown to try and keep the position

  21. They’ll go from “enough votes to sell us down the river to fascism” to “enough votes to sell us down the river to fascism”, I see.

Call me when it flips and not a moment before.

  22. Oh did we finally get through the vesting period on her congressional retirement already? Wow, time sure flies when you’re playing the victim, Marge. She deserves the Hilton no-service treatment from everywhere.
