Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey issued a sharp rebuke to Immigration and Customs Enforcement after one of their agents shot and killed a U.S. citizen at a protest against the agency.
At a press conference just moments after the fatal shooting, Frey offered one message to the federal agency: “Get the fuck out.”
“We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite,” he continued. “People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart. Long-term Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to our city, to our culture, to our economy are being terrorized, and now somebody is dead, that’s on you, and it’s also on you to leave.”

In the UK, if a firearms officer shoots someone they are individually accountable for their action and automatically face a mandatory investigation. This can lead to either criminal investigation or a misconduct hearing and disciplinary action depending on the situation.
I have a nasty feeling that ICE don’t have quite the same setup.

There’s a video where the driver says to the ice agent “I’m going around” since she can’t get through the road due to the roadblock. But the ICE douche canoe has none of it and tells her to get out of the car and reaches the door handle. The woman obviously panics and tries to leave while ICE agent is still next to the driver side door trying to get in. He suddenly lets 3 shots go and the vehicle moves past the agent and stops in 10 feet. Physical witnesses and video evidence make this a clear case of homicide in my opinion. No attempt to maintain calm, to de-escalate, to try to differentiate general public from agitators. Utterly tragic and shameful. Well done USA.
