I support ex-offenders upon release from prison and this includes helping them find a job. Employers are understandably reticent about hiring people with criminal records. Even jobs such as being a porter at a care home will automatically reject applicants with a criminal record.
So how are care homes and restaurants easily doing background checks to find and exclude prison leaver applicants but the POLICE are happily hiring serial rapists with criminal records a mile long?
And these people are supposed to be protecting us? Save me the ‘a few bad apples’ and ‘procedures weren’t followed’ bullsh*t, this is repeated systemic incompetence from bottom to the top.
Your local restaurant and care home are better at safeguarding than your local police force.
