Comparing any modern politician to Hitler should be done carefully, but Trump *has* given people plenty of material to talk about.

  2. Independent_Oil_5951 on

We have a masked group of unqualified thugs that vance says are going to go door to door, an administration that says it has plenary power to do whatever it wants, an aggressive expansionist power, state censors in our media networks, and his face on the money and official documents. And the hell of it is people still aren’t convinced this is an apt comparison.

  3. From the article:

The January 9 edition of *Objektiv*, a Slovenian weekly magazine-style supplement published by the newspaper *Dnevnik*, features a portrait of Trump with crude oil dripping over his top lip from below his nose, giving the appearance of a Hitler-style mustache. The cover includes the subhead “American Attack on Venezuela.”

Trump has faced comparisons to Hitler at several points during his time in office. Critics have often pointed to a parallel between his comments on nationalism, the media and immigration and authoritarian regimes like Nazi Germany.

  4. Hitler wasn’t ‘Hitler’ in 1933 either. You don’t need a death count in the tens of millions to see the comparisons.

**The Trump Regime is definitionally a hostile terrorist organization:**

A terrorist organization is generally defined as a group **using or threatening violence** for **political**, **religious**, or **ideological goals**, aiming to **create fear** and **coe**r**ce** **governments or populations**, often **targeting civilians or non-combatants**.

    key characteristics include:

    – politically motivated violence

    – intimidation tactics,

    – an **intent** to influence broader audiences beyond immediate victims.

He has deployed military units into cities and neighborhoods against the civilian population. They use aggressive tactic and overt violence against the civilian population, They are creating an environment of fear by design to achieve control. They’ve gotten rid of due process for a significant civilian population. They’ve sent their military forces into schools, terrorizing children. They’ve sent military forces to intimidate businesses they disagree with. They’re executing mom’s in the street. This is all being done with an intent to influence far beyond the immediate victims.

All this violence, all this fear, all this use of military against our own civilian population, is being done so that the Trump Regime can further advance their political and ideological goals.

The Trump Regime is a terrorist organization.

Reminder that the GOP had 3 Nazi scandals in just 1 week during 2025.

The ‘Young’ Republicans group chat got the most press, but a GOP politician was investigated for a Nazi flag in his office and a Trump nominee had to withdraw over previous comments as well. All in 1 week. All tied to Nazism.

They’re a little late to the party. The Hitler comparisons have been a thing since 2015

  9. Ni doubt he will take this as a compliment and have it framed in cheap gold and hung in the oval office.

Well, trump is being depicted as Hitler by himself, so it’s really just journalistic integrity.

    >Earlier in his career the world had watched him with amusement. Many people refused to take him seriously on the grounds that “he could not possibly last.” As one action after another met with amazing success and the measure of the man became more obvious, this amusement was transformed into incredulousness. To most people it seemed inconceivable that such things could actually happen in our modern civilization.

    >He has a magnetic quality about him which, together with his past accomplishments, wins the allegiance of people and seems to rob them of their critical functions. It is a bond which does not easily dissolve even in the face of evidence that he is not always what he pretends to be – in fact is more often than not, the exact opposite.

    >It is well-known that he cannot carry on a normal conversation or discussion with people. Even if only one person is present he must do all the talking. His manner of speech soon loses any conversational qualities it might have had and takes on all the characteristics of a lecture and may easily develop into a tirade. He simply forgets his companions and behaves as though he were addressing a multitude.

    >On the whole, his speeches were sinfully long, badly structured and very repetitious. Some of them are positively painful to read but nevertheless, when he delivered them they had an extraordinary effect upon his audiences.

    >His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time, and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.

    >The course he will follow will almost certainly be the one which seems to him to be the surest road to immortality and at the same time drag the world down in flames.

excerpts from *A Psychological Analysis of Adolf Hitler*, 1943

  12. If you don’t want to be compared to Hitler, don’t attack foreign countries, put people into camps, and (this one is weirdly specific) try to built a giant arch in your country’s capitol city.

I felt like we are all blaming Trump, which he is definitely responsible; but the people that are truly responsible is us the Americans.

We are talking about 2/3 of us are okay with this behavior (1/3 support, 1/3 doesn’t care)

It is Trump’s fault, but it is also us the Americans’ fault. The world hates us, and it is very reasonable…

It took me a minute to realize that was supposed to be oil. At first it just looked like an unusually dark nosebleed, and I was trying to figure out the symbolism of that.
