Eight million panels, 100 GW — China starts assembling its ‘Great Wall of Energy’ in the desert. The wall will be nearly 133 km (82.6 miles) long and 25 km (15.5 miles) wide, and will produce enough energy to power Beijing. China surpassed 1 terrawatt of installed solar capacity last year.

  1. 1 terra watt sounds huge, then I looked up our production here in Canada and it’s over 500 with about 10 percent sold to the USA.

So a fraction of 1 percent of a large country with a small population. These numbers make it seem impossible.

The power of the sun, in the palm of my desert.

I’m a big critic of the chinese regime, but chinas fossile fuel usage was a big worry 20 years ago, and on that point, they really impress me.

    Now do human rights!
