Today I was just minding my own business washing my car at home when my neighbour had a gardener come to trim some trees.
He politely asked if he could access my garage because it was safer to cut one of the branches from my side. I said sure, no problem — it only took about 5 minutes.
Afterwards, he tried to give me $5. I refused and said I was happy to help, but he insisted and said, “It’s for your beer.” 😂
I even offered him drinks and cola, but he didn’t want to as he said he had already prepared and brought his own food today.
We ended up chatting a bit and I asked him what chemicals to use to kill weeds. He gave me proper advice on what product to buy from Bunnings… and then even gave me a spare spray gun for free.
I’m really grateful because I’m an immigrant, and being treated so kindly really meant a lot. I honestly wouldn’t choose any other country to live in but Australia.
He didn’t want to be named, but I just wanted to share this small good deed. Moments like this really remind me how kind and genuine people can be.
