Even in extreme cold, EVs outperform diesel AND save drivers money. In the most extreme cold conditions in America, EVs don’t just survive — they thrive. EVs delivered lower total operating costs than diesel once fuel, idling, block heaters, maintenance, and downtime were fully accounted for.

The artical says that EVs dont really thrive in cold weather?
>Vehicles stored in **heated** environments outperformed those stored outdoors, with efficiency dropping by up to 69% for **outdoor** storage
I am sure that will change with the adding of Sodium batteries though. OF course, I am not downing the article, I am just point out there is a hit and looks to be worst for ICE being as low as 25%. Hopefully, with sodium that number can keep closer to 80 or 90% for EVs in the future.

>At -20°C, our best lithium-ion cells might give you 60% capacity if you’re lucky. Our sodium ion cells? They’re still delivering 85% capacity and handling 3C discharge rates. By the time you hit -30°C, most lithium batteries are struggling to deliver any meaningful power, while sodium ion is still functional.
>The charging situation is even more dramatic. Lithium-ion batteries can be permanently damaged if you try to charge them below 0°C. Our sodium ion cells can be charged down to -20°C without any issues. That’s a game-changer for applications where you can’t control when charging happens.
So I am hopeful even in the cold weather, EVs will be the top choice going forward and more people will want to pick one up.
Well we are going back to clean beautiful Coal I guess steam powered trucks and cars. We will show them
EV in cold climates definitely outperform ICE, except range.
But that’s not an issue in day to day life
