  1. I like the idea, but I literally just found out about this at noon today – two hours before it was slated to happen. I’m on Reddit a lot, Mobilize, Indivisible… I didn’t see this.

A strike is what we need as corporations run this country and that’s how we assert leverage as a workforce and means-of-production… but we need to do this right. The unions are starting to truly turn on him (which, sadly, has not been the case) – we need their buy-in as well.

  2. To everyone saying that they didn’t know or didn’t see anything about this – please bookmark this website and check it regularly. Hell – make it your homepage. It has served as the major informational source about any/all protests up until this point.

My wife is a teacher in Missouri and NEA (National Education Association), her Union, sent an email this morning to all members in the State warning NOT to walk out or strike. Apparently Missouri has anti-strike laws, which I was unaware are constitutional.

  4. This is from military.com and nobody has heard of this. Kind of feels made up by the enemy if I’m being honest.

  5. First I’ve heard of this, and its happening today?

sounds a little iffy. You want him out? go put your butt in the street right now, today. Many of these “meet here at this time’ things seem to do more to fragment and confuse

  6. Although I can not participate in the walkout as our work involves medical care of patients. I did walk outside to touch grass when i could take a break, and give a moment of thanks to all of those who walked out for us! Together, we are strong. Together, We The People. Together, we will prevail.

  7. “3.5% Rule”

Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

Get out there and make that change.

  8. I’d also love to see the people puppeting trump held accountable, after all of this. He’s just a half-alive mouthpiece for the heritage foundation, and we can’t stop at just him.

  9. The militarization of America’s law enforcement is a problem that’s been brewing for decades. Now that we’re seeing the consequences, let this be the inflection point that brings it to an end.

It’s frustrating how this isn’t getting more coverage through regular channels. I check multiple news sources daily and completely missed this until now. The fact that there’s another one planned for Friday shows this is an ongoing effort, but it’s hard to stay informed when information gets buried or suppressed. We really need better ways to organize outside of platforms that can be manipulated or censored. The mention of fake protests and wrong dates being spread around makes it even harder to know what’s real.

  11. Protest in America is broken. These 1 day walkouts and 1 day ‘general strikes’ simply cannot lead to change. You’re not ‘hitting them in the wallet’, youre signaling that you are unwilling to minorly inconvenience yourself for more than 24 hours to stop what is happening and all anyone has to do is wait you out. “Dont worry we’ll be back to buying again tomorrow!”. You’ve all been tricked into thinking youre sticking it to the man when you aren’t.

  12. Where the hell was the ramp up for this? I am fully on board but you gotta get the message out to get people to commit. I’ve been to multiple No Kings, heard nothing about this. General strike in two weeks unless he is removed/resigns.

  13. Whoever planned this…this is poorly planned, and too early.

You need to give people time to prepare for this. You need to set a date at least a month out, for preparation. You need to get the word out, better.

I hope it happens and people pull through. I hope for the best.

Posted yesterday about today, that nobody knows about. Something smells fishy on this one. I am absolutely on board with a country wide strike, but this clearly isn’t it.

  15. Idk how much I trust any protest being advertised by “military.com” when we have a sudden trend of convenient escalations whenever news coverage shows up.

Feels like a setup to have agitators in the crowd. Trump is getting desperate.
