  1. I think it’s a good idea in theory. In reality, Americans will just take Monday off too and travel for their now 4 day weekend.

    This is a bit of a surprise considering Ohio law makers just try to undo all the things Ohioans vote for anyway.

  4. Yea, but it’s Ohio, so the bill will probably be tied to another that overturns legalized weed and/or abortion, despite the populace voting in favor of them.

  5. Very good idea. Foundational to a democracy is everyone having the ability to vote. This helps.

    Why can’t states make it a holiday the same way they do other holidays like Daisy Gatson Bates Day or Truman Day?

  8. This should have been done a long time ago. The main reason turn out is so low is because people do not have time or cannot afford to miss work to stand in line and cast their ballot.

    That’s all well and great and is a long time in coming unless the Republicans rig the elections and then it’s not worth it at all is it?

    it is genuinely insane that a federal holiday for voting has never been implemented in literally hundreds of years. I mean, we all know WHY it hasn’t, but…
