  1. Europe can’t solve its energy problems by switching from one unreliable external supplier to another. The only good answers for us are

    – Maximise North Sea Oil production until the last barrel has been extracted

    – Accelerate green energy plans, particularly offshore wind

    – Mass-produce SMRs and build them everywhere

And Reform want to tether us even more to Trump, the US, and their erratic and threatening behaviour! Anyone voting for those bastards is a traitor to this country, just like them.

  3. Why do you think they threw a fit when we didn’t choose them for SMRs, and why they’re always shitting on wind farms?

  4. We need to do what China is doing and move to a combination of nuclear and renewables. China went from 1200 Twh in 2000 to 9000 today mainly driven by renewables (they installed more solar last year than the rest of the world combined)

Why ? Because you can turn off the gas pipelines but you cant turn off the wind and sun (yet)

what shit is this , I pay EDF for electricity and there based in France so how would the USA come into this shit ?

  6. We changed one diktator plutkin that we could easier handle for another that’s gone wild drumbf.

  7. Thus is why renewables are so important. Not only are there environmental benefits but they are also a way of maintaining control over our own energy supply. Those should also be run by British companies or the British government so that can maintain complete control over them.

UK and Europe are pushing ahead with renewable energy and SMR nuclear.
They are deliberately and methodically becoming independent of foreign energy sources.

Dependency on fossil fuels from dictators has always been problematic, but that era is ending rapidly.

Why else do you think the fossil fuel companies’ paymasters spend so much money lobbying against renewable, independent energy sources. They are losing their economic grip on the global economy.

    About time too…

  9. what? hasnt wind *alone* been generating around 70% of the uk’s energy supply for the last couple years? taking everything else at our disposal into account that doesnt really make sense to me in the case of the UK. can someone eli5 please?

  10. Just go solar and renewable energy. Cause you have people pay like £20 a month for electricity and the majority of the time they are selling the energy that they have to the grid.

  11. Farage should have constant microphone’s in his face demanding his take on every development.

It needs to be made completely clear that this is an international movement across the west and that the UK branch of the alt-right/far-right, as with those in Hungary, Italy etc, are tethered to this.

They can’t uncouple themselves from this stuff and we shouldn’t let them. This is supposedly our Prime Minister in waiting. Constant scrutiny and questions.

Which is why the US are demanding we cut any semblance of moving towards Net 0%. With our own nuclear and renewable power, and little to no need for oil or gas that isn’t acquired from our own sources i.e. North Sea Oil and Gas, we’re a lot more secure and stable.

Once again we’re a windy island that has areas with a lot of sun….

We can easily power the place with renewables if we just spend the money
