  1. Trump said “Iceland” when he appeared to mean “Greenland” four times in his speech. Leavitt later denied he mixed the names up.

    >No he didn’t, Libby. His written remarks referred to Greenland as a “piece of ice” because that’s what it is. You’re the only one mixing anything up here.

    >Leavitt referred to Trump’s “written remarks,” not what he had said spoken. Asked why Leavitt would deny Trump had made this mistake, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers replied with a written statement that provided no more clarity on the matter:

    Edit:

He said “piece of ice” eight times during his speech, e.g. *Big, beautiful piece of ice. It’s hard to call it land. It’s a big piece of ice.”

Why did he say “Iceland” four times (he meant Greenland), though he stated that it is “hard to call lt land”?

    “Evidence shows he did”

Hey buddy we live in the age of “alternative” facts and evidence.

He felt like he was saying Greenland so why do you come at him with so called “facts” just because you and the rest of the world heard him say Iceland at least 4 times?!

  4. She lies about everything. There’s no point in listening to anything she says, it’s like North Korean-level obvious propaganda.

  5. Well his speech is on video with audio. Anyone can clearly hear what he said. So, it’s either he mixed them up or he’s now after Iceland too.

But hey, the Access Hollywood taped confession of CSA was everywhere in 2016 an a majority in the right locations put him in the White House. So he’s right about 1 thing, he can get away with anything

  6. Besides Trump confused Greenland and Iceland during Tuesday’s press briefing at the White House.:

“We’re the richest we ever were. It’s because of tariffs and the proper use of tariffs, and we’re also the most secure,” Trump said. “As an example, Iceland, without tariffs, they wouldn’t even be talking to us about it. So we’ll see what happens. I think it’s going to work out quite well.”

That’s not a question. He said it 4 times in one speech and continues to blunder it. Leavitt is mentally I’ll just like her boss. Just report the truth, don’t frame it as if reality doesn’t exist.

  8. This isn’t in the top 100 stupidest things Trump has said or done in the last month, but it is still a little surprising that he knows less about geography than everyone who has seen D2: The Mighty Ducks. Probably for the best that Trump never watched that movie though. Trump legitimately believes that everything he sees on his TV is real, if he ever watched D2 we would probably be on the verge of invading Iceland instead of Greenland, to get revenge on the Dentist for what he did to our boy Gordan Bombay.

Leavitt’s words have no value no matter what the topic. You can’t take anything she says seriously.

I would like to propose a new word for the oxford english dictionary.

    leavitt \’lev.ɪt\ n:

    1. A person whose devotion to a revered figure overrides truth, principle, and self-respect; one who will assert, deny, invent, or recast “facts” on demand, not from confusion but from calculated loyalty.
    2. A fervent partisan-adherent; equal parts sycophant and fanatic; who treats admiration as a moral duty, disagreement as heresy, and honesty as negotiable if it fails to serve the chosen cause or idol.
    3. By extension: speech or conduct marked by performative reverence and strategic dishonesty, deployed to flatter, defend, and sanctify another’s status at any cost.

Usage*:* “Don’t bother with evidence. She’s a leavitt; she’ll say whatever elevates the person she worships.”

Watch.the.video, trump says it 3 times very clearly. Leavitt is lying garbage as always.

The fact that there has to be articles about this is insane. He said something on camera, and that is denied having happened. Gaslighting and propaganda are daily tools of this government.

  13. DatabaseFickle9306 on

Honestly he could have just said “you know what, whoops” rather than sending his flying monkeys after everyone. This would have never been a story.

  14. It’s a 50/50 between confusing them or him being told Greenland was mostly covered by ice and him deciding to rename it as such because he didn’t know Iceland was already another place…

    Either way he’s dumb.

  15. Why are they acting like it wasn’t filmed and we all watched him say Iceland instead of Greenland multiple times

  16. Never did I imagine there would be a day where the white house press secretary will behave like that famous North Korean news anchor. Un-f**ing-real.

  17. >Did Trump confuse Greenland with Iceland at Davos? Leavitt denied it, but evidence shows he did

    Let me fix that:

Trump confused Greenland with Iceland at Davos! Leavitt shamelessly lies that he didn’t, but evidence shows clearly that he did.

  18. The dementia is really starting to show. His kids need to get a handle on him. he needs a full time handler that’s not Steven Miller.

  19. The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
    ~ George Orwell

  20. It’s become so normal, but sometimes you have to take a step back and realize that in any normal admin, the press secretary would just say ‘The president misspoke but was clearly referring to Greenland. Next question.”

But Trump is so sensitive that his people have to constantly cover for what occasionally is quite a normal thing, like misspeaking (Greenland context aside, definitely not normal). Trump is just so deeply insecure that they have to lie about things that are easily proven false. They’d rather look like idiots, and lie to Americans than risk insulting the delicate flower.

  21. What is the purpose of this title? He did. He said Iceland over and over again when he meant Greenland.

  22. This is the administration that thinks if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. That’s their mantra.

  23. Leavitt does not know what truth means, she think facts can just be substituted with alternative facts that sound better.

  24. If he didn’t confused Iceland with Greenland, then he threatened yet another country. Is that really better?

  25. I liked it when he told a room full of Native German speakers that they would be speaking German if it wasn’t for the U.S.A. The guy is an embarrassment in so many ways.
