This seems like it’s actually going to happen. Shane Rattenbury is an ego-maniac and he’d rather strike a deal with the Liberals and far-right ADVANCE to form a Liberal-Green government in the ACT.
**Say goodbye to Light Rail Stage 2B.**
Yes, this will harm the Greens nationally, especially them getting in the bed with ADVANCE, and the Greens losing badly is a good thing but this is going to destroy the crucial Light Rail Stage 2B project which is very important generational infrastructure. It may never be revived even if Labor wins a landslide victory in 2028. It’s fate could be the same as the Bondi Beach heavy rail project.
There’s 3 whole years left of the ACT parliamentary term. So much damage can be done within that period.Â

Teaming up with your enemy just means that they will just get down their list to you quicker.

The article is very heavy on alleged sources while ignoring the fact that the Greens are unable to enter the agreement without the support of their membership. It does seem like Rattenbury *really* want to be CM, and this implies that would be for the whole term
If so, and assuming the Liberals agreed to support the agenda of a Greens-led government, it could be a temporary win but I don’t see any way that either party would survive the 2028 election
