“ban hate speech against us!” no wait we didn’t mean banning us from hate speech against others!!

I see a lot of comments supporting this ban.
Perhaps it’s because he’s Israeli, perhaps not.
However, in August this year, the Festival of Dangerous Ideas is hosting Salman Rushdie.
In the past, he has been highly critical of Islam. Should he also be denied a visa?

Firstly I fully believe a country is entitled to decide who they do and do not allow in.
What makes me so curious though is how come when the US does it it is proof of “fascism” and a “dictatorship” but when Australia does it it’s sensible and cheered on. What’s with the inconsistencies?
And don’t hit me with “but in the US they deny entry to innocent people!!!”. Before you reply that look up the actual rap sheet of the folks they didn’t allow in. Certainly not the types you would want in your country and definitely not the innocent angels out lies by omission ABC public broadcaster makes them out to be!!!
