Who didn’t see this coming? Especially since Abbott helped undermine the last moderate Liberal leader (Turnbull).

>Â A Liberal source noted next week’s opinion polls could prove decisive for Ms Ley, with Parliament returning, and cautioned her days as leader still appeared to be numbered.
Likely to have Labor down – the rates are going to shoot up next week after today’s red hot figures.

The fact that the party has one of the dumbest people to ever lead it still pulling strings from behind the scenes really tells you a lot about why it’s been in a nose-dive for years.

This is all just face saving isn’t it to show the knives weren’t completely out for her?

Aw, she’s lost the backing of our former Minister for Women.

Tony always did love a bit of white-anting. But you know if they wheel out old Johnnie Howard for his hot take then Sussan is sscrewed.

If Tony can intervene with the issue on Capital Hill then surely he can also intervene with the issue on London Circuit?

Hastie or nothing. No young patriots will vote Liberal if anybody else is elected. Appeal to young not boomers

Abbott is proving to be as unflushable as Howard.
Betting he would just love Hastie to takeover……

Abbott started the cancer that’s growing inside the LNP, of course he wants it to spread
This is just a magnificent piece of satire at this point.

Obviously our former Minister for Women thinks the Liberals first female leader should go back home and do the ironing.

Why should anyone care what he thinks? He was prime minister for less than two years and that was 11 years ago.

Just break up already. We don’t need single ideology monolith parties in Australia’s parliamentary system. You can have Economic Libs and Magaesque Libs in different parties and not have to keep bickering internally.
We’d be a much richer democracy with more diversity of parties.

Things just suddenly got more miserable for the Liberals……
They might as well trot out Morrison for his 2 cents as well and further remind everyone why they’re unelectable.

Half Term Tony, hardly the vision of a successful Prime Minister. Imagine going to the guy who got fired for being shithouse at the job you’re running for and following his advice.Â

There’s a special, special group of Liberal leaders
Whose advice is absolutely indispensable
Howard was Liberal leader and lost his own seat!
Abbott was Liberal leader and lost his own seat!
Dutton only made it to leader of the Opposition but he too lost his own seat!
(Peta Credlin hasn’t lost a seat but she’s great at telling people how they can lose theirs.)

Taking advice from the bloke who was the Liberal chief political strategist for the last election, which resulted in losing so many seats, is pure conservative genius.

I somewhat understand why John Howard is wheeled out by the LNP, but genuinely why do they care what Tony Abbott, [one of the worst prime minister’s we have ever had,](https://researchmgt.monash.edu/ws/portalfiles/portal/398704769/374414346_oa.pdf) has to say?
