I wonder how frequently right wingers bring guns when they’re at counter protests…

  2. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he did not think Alex Pretti, the second U.S. citizen to be killed by federal forces in Minnesota this month, was acting as an assassin.

“You can’t have guns. You can’t walk in with guns,” the president said in response to a question from PBS News’ Liz Landers, reiterating a talking point from the administration that Pretti should not have brought a legally carried handgun to the scene — a position that has infuriated gun rights advocates.

The president’s response amounted to a softening of his administration’s tone on the Jan. 24 shooting, after several of his top aides, including White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, described Pretti as a threat to federal agents.

Following Pretti’s death, gun rights groups have released statements, saying that it’s legal to carry firearms during protests or while exercising First Amendment rights.

Landers asked Trump about the Second Amendment, which protects the right to keep and bear arms.

“It’s a very unfortunate incident,” Trump said, shortly before departing the White House for a planned speech in Iowa.

Most of these trumpers are all about 2nd amendment right…guess just when it suits them. The cope is real

Trump supporters are learning what Trump really thinks about the Second Amendment. Don’t imagine that your guns are safe from these warrantless searches of houses.

Turns out the 2A fanatics were right. The feds are coming for your guns. They just had the wrong villain in the story.

  6. MAGA: Trump may say you can’t have a gun, and can’t walk with guns. But a trans person played a sport three years ago. So I don’t care.

And the Jan 6 insurrectionists just carried posters to peacefully protest. Invoke the 25th Amendment already.

  8. But the right wingers will still be able to show up to THEIR protests or counter-protests with guns, of course. ThAts dIfFeREnT.

Fuck man, how anyone voted for this clown because they thought he is pro gun is beyond me.

I have a license from my state to CCW and the constitution says we can have guns. What the FUCK is he talking about?

This needs to be part of every single commercial in every swing district.

    “You can’t have guns.”
    -Donald J. Trump

  11. Maybe he was confusing himself with everyone else- he can’t have guns because he’s a fucking felon. Most other people aren’t though. Much confusion.

  12. I mean his cult went from believing the Epstein files were the most important thing in the world to believing they are a hoax, so giving away their gun rights probably is a piece of cake.

  13. Conservatives have always been for gun control. It’s just that their definition of gun control is that conservatives are the only ones who are allowed to have guns. If a member of a group conservatives hate shows up with a gun, then that person is obviously a criminal up to no good and it is OK for conservatives to gun that person down in the street like a dog.

This is the Republican president making one of his notorious “jokes” intended to test the water for some policy he would like to implement. It’s how he does it: make a comment that nobody would approve of, have his people call it a joke. Wait a couple of days and repeat the joke. Do it again. Watch for reactions. Once the joke is well established, wonder out loud if it wouldn’t be a good idea after all. Then implement the idea.

So now we know that trump would like to disarm the population. I suppose he doesn’t like an armed population because it is an obstable to tyranny.

“Except if it’s convenient, beneficial, or in support of *me* that you have one.”

  16. Remind the conservatives you know or interact with their president doesn’t believe in the 2A

Trump: “You can’t have guns. You can’t walk in with guns. You just can’t.”

    That’s verbatim, folks.

  18. “You can’t have guns. You can’t walk in with guns,” the president said in response to a question from PBS News’ Liz Landers, reiterating a talking point from the administration that Pretti should not have brought a legally carried handgun to the scene — a position that has infuriated gun rights advocates.

    Where did he “Walk in”?

He was in a public place.

    All legal. “Should” doesn’t matter.

He was disarmed and incapacitated when he was shot 10 times.

Even if it wasn’t a legal gun, that’s still murder.

  19. And if you dare have a look at the conservative sub, you’ll see the first post is of a Minuteman with the title “shall not be infringed” under him.

In that post you’ll see nothing but comments about how you can be “a gun owner, but not stupid with a gun”..which tells me that, if I’m to believe these aren’t all bots, are real people who have bought the initial DHS line that Pretti had drawn his firearm and tried to use it against ICE agents. These are the same people who claim to have seen the videos. There are zero comments about what **Their** president just said, and I doubt there will be..

Down a few posts, there is vigorous debate about John Fetterman asking that Noem be fired. They seem to have no idea why she should be, and now suddenly hate Fetterman again. There is one person claiming he’s getting threats from other conservatives for being a traitor to Trump because he dares to say Fetterman is right. Welcome to the MTG club, my man!

  20. Isn’t “having guns” (particularly in the face of government oppression) the whole fucking point of the 2nd Amendment?

  21. You can’t have guns…if you’re a Dem and don’t support me. Fucking chode.

It’s ironic that all these gun nuts were justifying gun ownership, castle doctrine and stand your ground to defend themselves from criminals and tyranny. Yet we are literally seeing tyranny and not a peep from these people.

In my state one idiot legislator has introduced a bill that takes away businesses right to deny guns on prem.

  22. ButterscotchLow8950 on

Ok, then let’s go back and put Rittenhouse in jail.

You can’t have it both ways you little orange bitch. 🤣

  23. The administration could have just said “it’s a tragedy and we will do everything to investigate”. But no, they have to push this rhetoric repeatedly

  24. Um…. so now the GOP is into gun control? I’m very confused. Didn’t they want everyone to have the legal right to carry a gun?

  25. He didn’t even qualify the statement, it was just…”You can’t have guns.”

    Holy Shit!

Reporter: “What about the second amendment, sir?”

    Trump: “You can’t have guns.“

  26. This is the doublethink that Orwell described in *1984*. It’s when a person believes two totally contradicting viewpoints simultaneously. To believe every American’s god-given right to own a firearm and to protect themselves shall never be infringed, but to also believe that owning a weapon is justification for murder. It simply cannot be both, but to them, it is.

  27. I’m the rare 2a leftie. I never viewed Trump as a 2a guy. Always skeptical of him on that. This is going to be an identity crisis for a ton of maga

  28. MyNameIsPatBackFat on

Conservatives is the breakup between you and Democrats over yet? Y’all going to let the orange goblin take your guns?

  29. Republicans are like the fat kid with the ball. Always changing the rules while playing. And if they’re losing, they trying to take the ball away and ruin the game for everyone.
