I remember when Dems controlled the White House and Congress, the key headlines from the right were about obstructionism, how they prevented Dems from enacting their agenda. But when MAGA is in power, the Dems holding political office just become social media accounts and outside observers, trading memes about how bad things are.
On the left we talk about people being “qualified” for office based exclusively on what their expressed opinions are, and especially, how zingy they are in expressing those opinions. There seems to be little or no evaluation with respect to practical effectiveness in enacting good policy and obstructing bad policy.
