They kept all of the useless middle managers while firing developers and frontline managers. As someone in this industry, it is huge red flags of a sinking ship. Productivity is going to drop and they cannot backfill talent after a disastrous 2 rounds of layoffs. The MBA managers do not have tech background to even distil how to ship good software and AI code will just blow up in sev1s daily to the point no devs will touch Amazon.

My neighbor’s son works for Amazon in Seattle. He’s not concerned about losing his job, but his team is being decimated and he’s having to go to…India…to train their replacements…
EDIT: they’re not eliminating 16K jobs, they’re offshoring/replacing them with cheaper Indian labor…
