When we get a new administration, they’re going to need to set up direct flights to The Hague.

It’s a beautiful country you have here, it’d be a shame if anything were to happen to it

People in the US are really upset about the ICE executions; time to have another spec-ops raid on Venezuela.

  4. Uh oh, it looks like the Communist leader (his terms, not mine) that Rubio and Trump installed in Venezuela for oil bribes isnt juat doing what they say.

I guess US troops will need to go in so they can install a new Communist leader to bribe them with oil.

So legit old school vassal is what their aiming for. Can’t see that backfiring at all…

  6. So just in the last two days the US has:

    – Raising tariffs on South Korea by 25% because their legislature delayed a trade deal.

    – Had their ambassador to Canada threaten to send more F-35 jets over Canada if they don’t buy more from the US.

    – Forced Mexico to cancel an oil shipment to Cuba, after Trump said Cuba would get “zero oil.” Mexico’s president denied this was due US pressure if you want to believe that.

    – Is working to establish a permanent CIA presence in Venezuela.

    – Sending a 2nd armada to Iran and have Trump say he hopes Iran will “make a deal.” (Note: He may be talking about the one the US already sent there since he didn’t make it clear in his speech from late yesterday.)

    – Have ICE agents try to enter Ecuador’s consulate in Minneapolis.

    – Threaten to withdraw support from Iraq if their former PM al-Maliki returns to power.

    – Greenland’s PM has to come out and set out “red lines” he will not cross for talks with the US.

    – Have Trump say this morning that Iran should “Come to the Table and negotiate a fair and equitable deal – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS – one that is good for all parties” and then add that their “time is running out” and that “The next attack will be far worse! Don’t make that happen again.”

And now this from Marco. In normal times any of these would be the big foreign policy story of the week, if not the month, and this all has happened in two days.

  7. Venezuela’s government is illegitimate. There should be elections to select a new government.

Isn’t that just the standard US international relations strategy now. Give us what we want or we’ll use force.

  9. “goals” fixed by whom exactly and under what authority?

I mean Maduro was a dictator that lost the last election and should not be in power but… As far as I know Rubio and Trump had even less people voting for them than Maduro in that election in Venezuela…

  10. So arresting drug smuggling Dicktator was never the goal.

Goal was to steal their oil wealth.

Got ya. Thank you for clarifying Rubio

  11. So if Trump can’t access oil to sell for personal gain, our military, paid for by our tax dollars, will go in and seize more oil and sell it to oligarchs on Trump’s behalf.

  12. They will screw you, because you’re not in charge, and they will prove that.

Donny’s big idea is as dumb as any. You follow him at your own demise.

  13. “Do what I want or I’ll hit you” is how domestic abusers talk. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that the Trump administration is full of people who have been credibly accused of domestic or sexual violence, right?

Jesus Christ. You already used up your excuse here: get rid of a dictator.

Now cuz the people THAT YOU ILLEGALLY PUT IN PLACE are not doing what you want them to do you wanna try again?

    That’s called an invasion.

  15. TickingTheMoments on

“Do what we want or we will beat you up.” – Marco Rubio

Now this is shameful and embarrassing.

  16. What ever happened to Maduro anyway? Is he just rotting in a cell?
Either way, this just confirms that Venezuela was more of a hostile takeover rather than a liberation agreement. Though, i suppose if you had even slightly over a room temperature IQ you already knew this.

  17. Can the administration confirm if the country is supposed to be a us colony or this is extortion

So the US basically kidnaps their leader, takes a bunch of their oil, sells it and puts it in an offshore account, installs a new government and publicly warns it that they’ll be back in force if they don’t do exactly what the US has outlined. This will end well…

  19. Longjumping_One5461 on

This will be just like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Four years of invading, hundreds of thousands dead and still won’t have control.

  20. So it seems like we went from justifying an attack on Venezuela with:

    1. We had to in order to enforce an arrest warrant on Maduro
    2. Maduro wasn’t democratically elected and we have to give Venezuela democracy

    To:

    1. They’re not giving us the oil we told them to give us
    2. Therefore, an attack would basically be self-defense
