Greens often align more with moderate Libs (small gov) than they do with right-faction Labor (anti-social progression) so is it really so strange to try and build consensus this way?

I know that I’ll be neg bombed by Greens supporters
But is has been their modus operandi the entire time.
Fuck progressing society, just fuck up Labor.

Noticed that the ACT Greens Instagram and Facebook pages didn’t include a post promoting the “invasion day” rallies this year. This is wildly out of character for a far-left party. Highly likely that the ACT Greens social media team have been issued a directive by party management to moderate the Instagram and Facebook profiles towards the right in preparation for a coalition government with the far-right ACT Liberals.

I think it’s extremely reasonable for the Greens and Liberals to have a dialogue in the ACT, especially since Labor has been power for so long, but it would be shameful and hurt both parties if they ever formed Government together, though I doubt that will ever happen. That being said if they can find common policy goals that they can work around Labor on that’s great

Gosh what does the ordinary Greens voter think about this?
Vote Greens and get Liberals?
wtf

I honestly can’t imagine the membership of either parties being too fond of Lib-Green coalition government. In a scenario where they do form government, I struggle to see how it would even be that stable given the seat numbers and the ideological incongruence.
ACT Labor and Greens have worked collaboratively for a long time and I think there’s still a workable relationship there. The pivot to the Libs for a coalition I think would provide Labor easy political ammunition against both parties.
So yeah, not a great idea.

Liberals on the right, Greens on the left. Might they end up with a central party?

Seriously? The Greens want to get into an arrangement with the party that refuses to commit to net 0 by 2050?
Various billionaires have turned the current Liberal party into a cooker-lite party. The Greens should at least wait to find out if a religious zealot will take control at the Federal level before making such a stupid commitment.

Green parties in Europe have formed coalition governments with conservative parties, no reason it can’t happen here if the ACT Libs are willing to not be as insane as the federal Libs.

Nothing’s serious anymore. Desperate fools, seeking power for power’s sake.
Stand for nothing, fall for anything.

This isn’t too uncommon in Europe. When you have a voting system that ends up making a lot of smaller parties have seats rather than the traditional two party system, you require coalitions to form government.
European liberals (the centrist ones) and Greens do sometimes work together.
