  1. A Reform UK spokesperson said: “Following an investigation, it is clear Mike Manning did not declare his X account to the party during the vetting process.”

The vetting system isn’t good enough, then now is it?

  2. They put up a holocaust denier in my consistency at the last election. They will genuinely field absolute scumbags unless caught out.

  3. This is by far Conform’s biggest problem, their local candidates are racist bigots and people who are not fit to be politicians. Unfortunately, their voter base does not see this as a problem and we’ll all suffer as a result.

  4. “Reform UK has withdrawn its support for a council by-election candidate accused of posting “racist, antisemitic, xenophobic” comments on social media.”

Oh, I seeeeee. If you post nasty things on social media, it is bad.

But if you, say, gosh I don’t know, hiss at your Jewish classmates and say things like “Hitler was right”, that isn’t”directly racially* abusing anyone” so it is fine.

It all makes perfect sense now!

*yes I know Jews aren’t a race but hopefully you get my point.

  5. A local reform councillor near me has just been found guilty of verbally abusing a disabled person.

What a lovely bunch these Reform are.

  6. And this is just the one who slips up.

You just know that all their private WhatsApp (or more likely Telegram) chats with each other are wall to wall anti vax, pro Trump, “owning the libs”, replacement theory, chemtrails, crying about a black guy playing Doctor Who, pepe memes, “sink the boats”, “all by design”, etc.

We’ve all seem them on youtube comment sections. These are the people who are ahead in the polls.

‘We’re sorry we got caught out, we agree with what he says, however we don’t air these views in public as people get upset over our bigoted views, and call us out’

It seems like Reforms vetting process fails daily. Maybe they need to start a vetting process on the vetters.

  9. “have you got an x account”. “no”. “oh, OK”…….”you realise we could check?”. “oh, oh, yeah. Erm no I still haven’t got one”. “OK, we probably don’t need to check as we haven’t had an issue with our candidates going publicly rogue in the past. Carry on”.

This happened in 2019 to an SNP candidate, Neale Hanvey, who had shitloads of social media posts about a jewish conspiracy, Soros stuff etc. The awkward thing for the party was that with the party name on the ballot, he actually won.

Ended up being a massive pain for them as caused party rift whether to readmit him.

You could potentially see something similar here where he ends up winning and Reform don’t really know what to do with him. Maybe he will team up with Lowe and be a bit of an embarrassment the rest of his term.

  11. It really doesn’t matter. The fact that they let Suella Braverman in just lost them a ton of votes.

Imagine trying to campaign with a woman that voted for paid maternity leave for MPs but not for working class mums 😅

The party basically says ‘racist lunatics wanted’ then finds itself shocked to discover only racist lunatics apply

  13. Not just offensive but also bizarre:

“Manning also appeared to target African Americans in a separate post, replying to someone celebrating the festival of Kwanzaa with the comment: “Are you having the traditional stuffed Chimpanzee for Kwanzaa dinner?”
