  1. When it counts he will fall in line.  They always talk about standing up to Trump but always vote as their leader wishes.

  2. Purely a performative action when called upon he will kneel in Trump’s office and kiss Trump’s boots just like they all do.

the reality is this is what an internal party fault line looks like when it finally hits prod. a gop senator openly breaking with trump to go after noem and miller is less about principle and more about power alignment shifting in real time. noem has been running the full culture war playbook like its infinitely scalable but now the technical debt is coming due. you can only optimize for base outrage and donor cash for so long before other actors in the system start seeing you as a liability. miller being dragged into it just confirms this is about immigration hardliners trying to lock in control before 2026. it’s almost as if governing by grievance creates instability, who could have guessed.

    He’s no saint.

He opposes abortion, opposes the Affordable Care Act, pivoted his stance to supporting Trump’s border wall, voted against creating commission to investigate Jan. 6 insurrection, and voted against a bill that funded research and benefits for up to 3.5 million veterans exposed to toxic substances during their service.

    He is not seeking reelection.

Tillis isn’t running again because he was already on the outs with Trump, so he has little to lose on this. But, Jeff Tiedrich said it best about Tillis “let’s be clear-eyed about this, Thom Tillis is not our friend. he’s as xenophobic as they come. he’s totally down with ICE rounding up immigrants and shipping them to who the fuck cares, and he thinks they should be doing more of that shit. he’s just mad at ICE Barbie and Nosferatu McGoebbels for fucking up.”

  6. Oh big fucking deal. The buck stops with Trump. He’s the Unitary Executive, after all. Wake me when these idiots actually oppose the illegitimate, seditious traitor in office and not (just) the henchmen he’s directed to enact his will

  7. He’s my senator.  He has voted ” yes ” on most of Trump’s bills and crazy ideas.  Once in awhile, he shows signs of possessing a spine.

It’s worse knowing that Tillis all this time had the ability to speak out against Trump and Co. but fucking didn’t until he decided not to run again.
    Thoo little, thoo late.

  9. What he said about Trump calling him a loser was a 4th degree face of the sun burn. Also got a video of him out by his car saying that Noem and Miller were mid-level managers at best, and one is a cabinet member and the other is an advisor to POTUS. All these clowns, especially Hegseth, dude was a national guard member, Major (ultimate middle manager), and picked up some high level meritorious medals – NOT VALOR awards. Meritorious awards are like for keeping the battalion supplied with water during a deployment. Awards for Valor are for things like the company was pinned down by insurgents and the quick thinking of Captain Hegseth saved the day. He has tried to play them like they were for Valor…he successfully completed a big task that he was ask to do and got cookie to hang on his lapel.

  10. So many Republicans magically develop a spine as soon as they announce they’re not running for reelection.

Tillis is a cowardly shill. Only speaking up because he is not running for re-election. He is very responsible for aiding and abetting the orange child rapist, 34 time convicted felon, and traitor.

I have started calling them the ghoul and the goblin. Haven’t chosen which one is which though

  13. The entire world is watching the USA destabilize and turn to fascism. From the outside looking in, it is as if Americans are weak in the face of this fascism, and mostly support it. I’m proud to see real people standing up against fascism and rejecting these clowns from office. But damage is done, Trump and his nazi cucks need to be impeached and incarcerated. The world has moved on, countries can trade and invest elsewhere with less hostile, more stable markets and more open trade. America needs to end the trump crime family’s corruption. Nobody wants to play in the sandbox with a pedo nepo baby bitch Trump.

  14. He saw that 95% Democrat vote in MN and made a decision.

Fuck Thom Tillis. I’m not buying. Broken clocks go in the trash.

  15. It’s a shame that the GOP politicians can’t be brave except when they’re bailing out of Congress. Disgusting.

  16. What’s the point, when the republican base and GOP are racist to the core? This is about having the thinnest veneer of plausible deniability whilst keeping the non-white, non-conservatives in their place.

  17. Yeah the problem isn’t some Republicans it’s all Republicans there is no meaningful dissent from any Republican including resistance liberal hero Dick Cheney and his do nothing daughter who twice campaigned for Trump.

  18. Nah, like clockwork, they always have at least one dissident emerge when shit gets bad enough. It’s how to they keep the on-the-fence idiots on their side by showing enough compassion/reason/empathy etc to allow them to remain comfortable enough to keep voting Republicans. It’s controlled and is not genuine in any way. Read about Tillis, he sucks and is in favor of this all.
