I don’t think it’s confusing at all. He’s operated like a petty child for years.

Well, I don’t think that’s confusing at all. They’re Democrats, after all, and he hates democracy.

This whole thing reeks of donor-driven strategy. Keeping Democratic governors out isn’t about “respecting the office” or any high-minded principle it’s a calculated move to keep certain political donors and special interests happy. You can’t build an “us vs. them” narrative without maximizing donor contributions from the people who thrive on division. Politics is more about who’s cutting the checks than about who’s making the decisions.

  4. whats going on is probably somewhere between pettiness and wanting to openly discuss plans to derail the midterm elections

  5. They all should get together alternatively, and come up with a strategy for when he decides to deny the election results and how to counter it.

What a fucking dumbass. It’s not confusing. Wake up asshole. Republicans are levying civil war against America.

  7. He doesn’t care about Democratic governors but, truth be known, he doesn’t give a damn about Republican ones either. The calculation regarding who to invite to the governors’ meeting revolves around one question: who will show him love and deference.

Reminds me of that scene from Chernobyl, when they all clap (excessively) after that politicians peep talk speech.

Wes Moore has been milquetoast about this whole ordeal, so not surprised to see this response out of him.

  10. What is confusing? The petty idiot has called Democrats “scum.” You are a Democrat, governor. Do the math.

  11. Trump has disinvited only two governors to the dinner: Wes Moore (D-MD) and Jared Polis (D-CO). They happen to be the only black governor and the only openly gay governor in the country. I don’t know if that was the logic, but I’m not sure if there’s an explanation that could be more evil.

This is separate from the meeting that’s GOP only, by the way. Two different events.

Since no one here will read the article, the only two governors that didn’t get an invited by trump to the National Governors Association dinner was the black and gay ones.
