Yeah, I watched Colbert last night. Late night talk shows tend to be left leaning, where talk radio is right leaning. The FCC is now applying more restrictive rules to the former versus the latter. Late night needs to interview both sides, where talk radio doesn’t. Objective is to give Democrat politicians, and their views, less exposure. That’s fucked up.

Some of us are old enough to remember Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts bitching non-stop about the what was then called the Fairness Doctrine, which was basically an imaginary boogeyman that was going to threaten their livelihoods by giving equal air time to liberals. This is exactly what Trump meant when he said he’d be a dictator on day one. Using FCC policy to silence criticism is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. The fact that CBS lawyers called directly shows how quickly corporate media is falling in line with Trump’s intimidation tactics.
