  1. There’s never being a time as this where epistemic gate keeping of free speech as this high and free speech hated this much.

  2. Yeah, I watched Colbert last night. Late night talk shows tend to be left leaning, where talk radio is right leaning. The FCC is now applying more restrictive rules to the former versus the latter. Late night needs to interview both sides, where talk radio doesn’t. Objective is to give Democrat politicians, and their views, less exposure. That’s fucked up.

  3. Conservative media wants 2 types of politicians on the air: Conservatives of any stripe and firebrand democrats who might alienate centrists. I’d bet anything that they’d allow AOC or Jasmine Crockett.

Talarico is neither. He has the potential to actually swing a vote. Can’t have that.

  4. That interview with Mr Talarico was a breath of fresh air. He was articulate, concise and very clear about the issues. 👏

Other than political bias, there’s no reason to block it being aired. – Other than pressure from Trump to silence opposition.

    Deplorable of CBS.

  5. I can’t wait until he’s off CBS. He’s one of the smartest people in Hollywood and I have a feeling he’ll be getting very political with his next project.

Crap headline. He explained factually what happened, that’s not an “accusation”

I saw a YouTube comment I agree with. This was more of a restriction on freedom of religion than almost anything else.

  8. The fact that the broadcast was blocked raises the status from “Colbert accuses” to “Colbert indicts and convicts.”

You can’t “accuse” someone of doing something if they’ve admitted to doing it. That’s called “confirmation,” not “accusation.”

He should invite a republican on “to be fair” then they person comes out to shake his hand and they greet then he says “hi thank you for coming on the show, have a seat”, they sit down, then he immediately says “well thats all the time we have tonight, thanks for watching!”

  11. Watched the interview. THAT was what they were trying to censor? Absolutely pathetic. Just a likable dude. And a Christian that ACTUALLY listens to the teachings of Jesus. I would never even know who this guy but I now do thanks to CBS. LMAO. Talk about platforming.

Some of us are old enough to remember Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts bitching non-stop about the what was then called the Fairness Doctrine, which was basically an imaginary boogeyman that was going to threaten their livelihoods by giving equal air time to liberals. Are administration officials going to be holding Fox News to the same standard now that the right apparently has embraced this??

  13. There’s a reason I don’t pay for Paramount Plus anymore, and it’s not because “Star Trek is woke.” The Ellisons can cram it up their ass.

  14. He should have just invited Talarico’s opponent on and put the thumb screws to them. Make them regret it.

This is exactly what Trump meant when he said he’d be a dictator on day one. Using FCC policy to silence criticism is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. The fact that CBS lawyers called directly shows how quickly corporate media is falling in line with Trump’s intimidation tactics.

  16. I’m very sad there will be a casualty between talarico and jasmine crockett going into the midterms. They are both wonderful representatives of where the party should be going

  17. The hysterical part is that this interview will now be seen by 25x what it would have been seen on the actual airing. Pretty awesome pub. Fascists are not bright people.
