    From the [article](https://newrepublic.com/post/206639/john-fetterman-hits-new-low-quest-donald-trump-approval-voter-id-fraud):

    >Ex-progressive Senator John Fetterman is bucking his party yet again, but this time the fallout could drastically impact the results of future elections.

    >The Pennsylvania turncoat came out in favor of voter ID legislation, revealing that he would support a clean bill if it required voters to show identification before they cast their ballot. The issue is currently gaining momentum in the Senate under the banner of the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility, or SAVE, Act. Democrats have branded the voter restriction initiative “Jim Crow 2.0”

    >“I would never refer to the SAVE Act as like Jim Crow 2.0 or some kind of mass conspiracy,” Fetterman told Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany. “But that’s part of the debate that we were having here in the Senate right now. And I don’t call people names or imply that it’s something gross about the terrible history of Jim Crow.”

    >The SAVE Act would require Americans to present their birth certificate or passport in order to register to vote, and would further require voters to bring physical identification with them to the ballot box.

    >That’s not only completely unnecessary considering that it’s already illegal for nonvoters to participate in U.S. elections, but could also prove disastrous for married women, adding additional hurdles for individuals who have changed their names since their birth certificate was issued.

    >…

  2. Fetterman is living proof that brain damage causes you to become MAGA.

Edit: Upon reflection, this was a pretty ignorant-ass thing for me to say. Apologies to anyone I offended. But I do think in Fetterman’s case, having a stroke definitely changed him for the worse. He is a totally different person now. And no, I don’t buy the idea that he was a GOP sleeper cell all along.

  3. Pennsylvania deserves a Senator who stays true to the platform they were elected on. John Fetterman has walked away from the values of his base, and it is time for the Commonwealth to look toward a primary challenger in 2028 who will actually represent the people’s interests.

  4. And this is why I will never agree with voting blue no matter what. We had a democrat here in Nebraska just vote to subvert our minimum wage law that was voted for by the people. Her family owns the local grocery chain and doesn’t want to pay better wages.

Wonder if his wife still stands by him. It can’t be easy for her to be like “Yeah we used to be celebrated and beloved and now I tell the kids not to tell people our last names too loudly.”

  6. I have a feeling he was a republican this entire time and just ran as a Democrat to get elected

  7. So does he support SAVE or not? Article says he’ll support a clean bill requiring voters to show ID before voting.

That very much is NOT what SAVE is.

Articles like this are so confusing.

  8. He needs to be made forced to resign. If the Democratic party had any backbone, they’d pressure him to do it.

  9. Significant voter fraud does not exist, it has never been proven because it does not exist. This a phantom issue obsessed over by lunatics who worship a disgusting hateful old man.

Trump lost in 2020. Big deal already. What a terrible President and Republicans are completely lost.

Fetterman is who he has always been. A whole lot of people warned that he was exactly this. I mean he chased an unarmed Black guy with a gun! You want entertainment instead of leadership .. you get Fetterman. There was a perfectly good option.

  11. We should have elected his wife, who has made it her mission to help feed and care for those who need it. Fetterman’s stroke changed him.

  12. Someone somewhere has kompromat on Fetterman. If it’s not the stroke causing his heel turn, it’s definitely kompromat.

It’s not even just voter ID. That’s what they’re calling it to make it sound ok.

I’ll give it to him, Fetterman sure did put on a convincing show. But so did Sinema. At least Manchin was always open about his “in name only” status.

  15. Everytime I see news about Fetterman I remind myself that he ran against Dr Oz and then think about how both of them ended up being absolutely terrible choices and if only the democrats had backed a different candidate maybe we’d be a little better off.

Fetterman is a goddammed disgrace who would resign if he had any integrity. He ran on a total lie, and wasted no time in getting rid of the disguise and becoming the right-wing MAGAt he’s always been. The man is an unscrupulous fraud who needs to be gone.

  17. What the actual fuck!

Fucking with elections is a new low for this guy.

Edit: Ugh, I accidentally quoted the title. Doesn’t matter. A NEW LOW!!! RECALL!

  18. Every “problem” this administration pretends to solve is a manufactured problem to begin with. They constantly need new targets for their MAGA base to be upset about otherwise they risk losing control over them.

  19. Drives me crazy how they keep quoting polls supporting voter ID.  Most voters assume that just means quickly show your license and move on, I’m sure if you polled people ‘do you want to have to show your brith certificate and marriage license to vote’ suddenly it would be a lot less loved

  20. Not a “Democrat”. He’s one of those actually-Republicans who chose to run as Democrats in districts where bizarre MAGA candidates were the opposition. There are several of those in Congress. They’re the ones who vote for ICE, against the Constitution, and against their voters’ wishes.

  21. SteveJobsDeadBody on

You know it’s weird, people keep telling me the Dems have to go right in elections in order to attract more voters, but then I see people like Fetterman going right and surprisingly none of the polls go up for them.. You would think their polling would go up, after all they’re appealing to a broader voter set in their purple states this way.

I live in PA and yeah he needs to go!! What a fucking disappointment this man turned out to be!

  23. are we still pretending the goal is to “combat voter fraud” and not just disenfranchised voters with a pseudo-voters tax?
