If you ever worked in the coal industry, you will notice that your resume is rejected by companies that are not in the coal industry.
Similarly, if you ever programmed in COBOL, you will notice that you can only get interviews from people who want you to program in COBOL. You might be an expert in AI, but you will only get interviews from people who implement AI with COBOL.
And this HR rigidity is why you find such huge pressure to bring back the undead coal industry. Stop telling me my family will starve to death unless I can do AI with COBOL, and we’ll be able to turn off the coal plants.
He(they) also are pushing hard for more toxic pesticide usage, gutted clean air and water protection, and an avalanche of other destructive actions. They are so greedy they don’t care about, and some actively want to, burning the world down. Most of these people will be dead in 5-20 years anyway. The really crazy thing is all their idiot supporters gleefully signing the death warrants on the future of their children/grandchildren/etc. They believe it’s all ‘fake news’, thinking they are protecting jobs or something while getting raped and robbed.
