It’s almost as if these trump supporters are unhinged and prone to violence.
We all knew he was an open Trump supporter because the news and administration stopped talking about him almost instantly.

The problem with unleashing the irrational monster is that it may come after you. The Pedo-Pizza conspiracy has gone full circle.
Hyping up the hunt for the secret pedo-ring-cabal for ten years, and then go “Eh, let’s get over it.” might make some unstable people do unhinged things.

Maybe it was a bad idea for republicans to windup a bunch of psycho hillbillies about pedophiles when you are up to your tits in pedophiles.
When staunch yet unhinged supporters suddenly realize they’ve been played for fools, some of them get homicidally upset. These aren’t stable people at the best of times. This is one of the problems of a leader who relies on crazy people to gain power.
It’s a massive indictment of mainstream news orgs that anyone could even begin to believe that Donald fucking Trump, perhaps the most notable serial liar on earth, and known associate of Epstein, was ever going to do anything at all about it simply because he said he would. You can’t tell me there are editors out there putting out lazy fucking “Trump says….” headlines that just reprint his words and framing, without context or pushback, that didn’t know he was lying. He lies about everything, and continually has the tone of a child, half eaten cookie in hand, crumbs around his mouth, saying “no, I didn’t eat the last cookie… A burglar did!”
I get that you can’t force these people to look at the news, that echo chambers exist, all that, but if the media landscape actually made a concentrated effort to make this stick to Trump (see, for example, “Biden old” after the 2024 debate, or “but her emails” in 2016), they could. And whether or not Joe Blow MAGA chud sees any of that directly, if the issue is blown up to that level, more would pick up on it being in the air. Dereliction of duty on the part of the decision maker types at the big media orgs (there are individual reporters doing good work under bad editors, there are good articles that’ll never get read because the news is only headlines now, etc)

Wouldn’t it be more accurate to say he was fixated on the coverup that is actually happening, instead of framing it as he was a conspiracy theorist? Could he have believed things beyond what is happening? Sure, very likely. The cause of that however, is the absolutely insane coverup of a massive child rape ring, and who knows what else, by the Epstein Class. Still no one outside of Epstein and Maxwell have been prosecuted and she’s in some fluff prison and a child rapist herself. What’s happening is far more unconscionable than one person losing it and unfortunately becoming a vigilante.
