Trump’s State of the Union address was nothing but a bunch of lies and incoherent babbling and a waste of Americas time.

  2. Thanks to The Hill for publishing this quite accurate criticism of the republican propaganda on display. With tonight’s Trump pointless stem-winder, he again debased the office and he made a mockery of an American tradition. Other than enact legislation which enriches the already affluent, republicans can only do mindless performative stunts like tonight’s pitiful event. Well, actually, they’re also pretty good at building concentration camps and disappearing people they don’t like. But truth-tellers they are not.

  3. ‘Delusional’ isn’t the right term. He’s not speaking off the cuff about his hopes or dreams. This was a carefully prepared speech, strategized by many others in his party, his spin doctors, to gaslight the public.

All trump himself had to do was manage to stay awake while repeating the words on the teleprompter. Even then he struggled.

  4. My favorite part was when he said that the Democrats voted against the Big Beautiful Bill, as a gotcha, but they all just stood up and clapped for that. Does he not know how unpopular that legislation was? Are his advisors not giving him accurate information?

Some may have assumed that they were hearing new and true sentiments from T, but even after this speech, it became clear once again: “Believe in the good in people, but expect the worst from them.” At least T does not disappoint in this regard: he remains true to his hypocrisy.

They are praising His speech (maybe His best speech ever) in the conservative sub 🤡

  7. Bragging that the 100 year old WWII veteran “shutdown a detention center”, as he is opening detention centers.

  8. The only analysis about the SOTU that will reach Trump is the ratings.

Not only do I hope they are very low for a SOTU, I hope he sees them drop significantly over the course of his babbling.

  9. It dawned on me during one of Trump’s many profoundly stupid comments that he was pulling an Andy Kaufman! He’s not trying to govern, he’s only trying to entertain through increasingly outrageous and unlawful actions. He’s already beaten women, so why not try wrestling them next? He even has his Tony Clifton with the nom de crétin John Barron to sanewash his actions and encourage support.

  10. I didn’t even watch it because I knew it would be either a incoherent mess or him insulting everyone he doesn’t like.

I made it about 15 minutes. Turned it off because I couldn’t stand the lies, the exaggerations, the spitting, the slurring, the odd cadence and tone. It was absolutely unbearable.

I am so glad I did not watch him. I have never seen any of his speeches and do not plan to ever listen to them. At this point hearing his voice is a health risk.

  13. The problem here is people still take him seriously as a leader when he is a felon rapist egomaniac liar.

  14. Aside from all the blathering about hi agenda and how things are better since he was elected, the cold, hard facts indicate that (a) Americans are struggling, economically, (b) our health resources and care are under control of people who ignore science and only look at the bottom line, (c) our nation is facing isolation from our strongest allies, and (3) our ability to maintain intelligence gathering both foreign and domestic, is in danger, as experienced government employees were largely replaced by friends of trump.

We have a couple of chances to avoid a total collapse, this November and again in 2028.

Wake up, America…before the nightmare becomes real.

  15. I feel like I’m going absolutely insane that he called Somalians lawless, explained that they were incompatable with western civilization, and then immediately used it to justify Minnesota. That’s not even xenophobic that’s full throated white supremacy. Absolutely shameless that the mainstream media is sanewashing this so hard.

  16. I turned it off when he started doling out Medals of Honor like a game show prize. As a fellow veteran, I’m not discounting their actions at all. Awarding the Medal of Honor deserves its own ceremony, with the seriousness and respect those servicemembers earned.
