  1. It’s because Democrats will actually hold Trump accountable, and Republicans will not. Trump has no need nor interest in working with Congress because they’ve given him free rein to do what he wants.

  2. If they lose the majority in either house Trump will become an extremely vulnerable lame duck and every member of his administration will be a valid target for inquiries and hearings.

    >“If we lost the midterms—heaven forbid, if we lost the majority in the House, it would be the end of the Trump presidency in a real effect,” Johnson said

Yes, that’s the whole point, Mikey.

  4. >“If we lost the midterms—heaven forbid, if we lost the majority in the House, it would be the end of the Trump presidency in a real effect,” Johnson said.

    good

  5. I really hope the democrats take the majority in the house and get the pedophile who has his stepson monitor his porn out of being speaker of the house, and then go after all trumps, his administration’s and ICE’s crimes. Impeaching the pedo president AGAIN would be great but but I don’t think it’ll happen but one can dream

  6. So basically admitting that he’s only still president because they’re protecting him and covering for him? Weird flex.

  7. We all know this. We don’t need spineless Mike to tell us, it is obvious.

But there was a video to watch with Mike talking, and my, how he has aged! His hair has a lot more grey and he looks haggard. I guess sewing all those invisible clothes for his emperor is exhausting.

  8. I’m all but expecting Johnson to refuse to swear in any of the midterm winners should the Dems take the House, setting off a significant constitutional crisis

Edit: guess I was mistaken about that

  9. I still don’t get it. They could slow rolled all of this, They LARPed so hard for no reason.

This is like going around starting fights and only realizing in the moment getting punched hurts. “Wait are you telling me if I make half the country or more hate me, it might politically backfire, why did no one tell me!”

  10. And also, the Trump presidency has been terrible, 60% disapprove. Sounds like Johnson is threatening us with a good time.

  11. “I actually agree with all the illegal stuff he has been doing and while I could have codified several aspects of it, I did not. So basically I like what he does but as a former law school dean, I did not do anything in my job to support the things I just said that I like. I don’t know why I have this job and I do not read about current events either.”

  12. And this is another example of fascist messaging, reversing #8 in this list on Ur-fascism’s wikipedia page:

    >Fascist societies rhetorically cast their enemies as “**at the same time too strong and too weak**.” On the one hand, fascists play up the power of certain disfavored elites to encourage in their followers a sense of grievance and humiliation. On the other hand, fascist leaders point to the decadence of those elites as proof of their ultimate feebleness in the face of an overwhelming popular will.

Only here, the in-power party portrays themselves as “very strong,” cartoonishly so. Yet they’re constantly under threat from “others” who they portray as weak or beta.

  13. It would get rid of Mikey and cripple Bozo. I hope the senate fails too then we can get rid of all the traitors to the Constitution. Impeach all of them. Good riddance!

  14. That depends on the American people to actually get out and vote. Maybe this time they’ll take it seriously, but I won’t be holding my breath.

The president is only as powerful as the coequal branches of government allow him to be. Which so far has been just about as powerful as he wants.

  16. If only the people of his district would see him for what he is. Nothing for them. They all gotta recertify their Medicaid eligibility come December or January. All cause of him.

  17. In trumps speech he kept saying there’s voter fraud. Well let’s see the last election was for president, so if there’s fraud then maybe he’s not our president and we should recount the votes.

  18. What’s considered “not that much” few thousand ppl illegally detained, few hundred illegally deported, a few citizens killed, several children raped, open bribery, open coercion with our enemies, that’s a pretty long list already to be described as “not that much” and that’s just what I can think of with 10 seconds of effort.
