  1. Impeaching does no good without conviction / removal. Unfortunately, most of Congress cares nothing for truth, justice, or the American people, but simply for power and self-enrichment.

  2. I so hope dems get power back and open a can of whoop ass on the entire Republican Party. Tired of this working with the other side when all the other side does is cheat. Take the gloves off this time!

    Conservatives/Republicans.

They’re the ones failing Americans. This is absolutely not a both sides issue.

  4. Please replay the impeachment trial #2. The main defense for not impeaching him was that he would “fade into the sunset, never to have a political career again”. Never ever believe the right.

  5. The American people failed themselves and the world by not showing up and letting a fucking pedophile into their highest office twice

What’s the point of articles like this? The Republicans don’t care about either and are very open about it.

  7. The only reason I hope hell is real is so these monsters face consequences for all the lives they’ve ruined. Its sickening that all these pedophile protectors aren’t punished

  8. In voting in this Congress, the American people have failed themselves and the world. They had choices. They chose otherwise.

We could also say the US has failed the world by allowing him to have a second term at all.

  10. As someone that didn’t vote for this… yes… I feel like my nation has failed. I definitely voted for All of this to Not happen and for pedophiles to go to jail. All of them. My voice is Not being heard.

  11. Replace all incumbents with the exception of the half dozen or so who have openly opposed him.

  12. Remember this GOP! They are all complacent and allowing this. Vote them out and never let them try and downplay thier roll is all this.

Republicans voters have failed the American people and the world (again) by electing sycophants to protect Orange Julius at all costs.

  14. The US unfortunately has the worst government of the Western world.
So dysfunctional, in so much disarray, a Congress that’s so corrupt. irrelevant, enabling and won’t do anything.
Impeachment is pointless unless Trump is removed and taken away in hand cuffs.
Seeing is believing to see Trump finally be held accountable for his actions and maniacal behavior.
I intend to vote in late 2026 and 2028 if there are still elections but I have no confidence in my fellow voters— those who will vote but especially those who don’t bother to vote in 2024 made this whole thing much worse.

Yep. Congressional republicans are responsible for this. Never let them forget it.

  16. Ambitious_Address667 on

By choosing republicans to lead thier country the american people failed the world. Stop voting for republicans its always a shitstorm.

And people will still say we shouldn’t punish Republican voters for what they’ve enabled.

The conservative legislature has always been the most dire problem in American politics. None of this happens without their lazy, idiotic dereliction of duty and their shameful mockery of the constitution.

  19. It’s really fucked up that the only political institutions I can easily name who haven’t let me down, are helmed by Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Jon Stewart.

  20. HoldMyDomeFoam on

All Republican voters failed the American people and the world. Along with non-voters.

Fuck them all. I won’t forget.

  21. What a BS article. It’s the **Republicans** who have failed the American people.

It’s not “Congress” generally and blaming Democrats for not impeaching Trump when they’re in the minority is just brain dead.

  22. banjojoestar on

“Democrats” when it’s Dems fault. “Congress” when it’s the Republicans.

  23. Why does it feel like we have an America Taliban?

Isaiah Berlin’s “Two Concepts of Liberty” distinguishes negative liberty (freedom from interference) and positive liberty (freedom to self-mastery or self-realization). Negative liberty is the absence of external obstacles, while positive liberty is the capacity to fulfill one’s potential, but Berlin warns that the pursuit of positive liberty can be twisted to justify tyranny, as one group may claim to know what is “best” for another. The essay was first delivered as a lecture in 1958.

This is why it feels like we have an American Taliban now. They think they know better because of some divine justification or cosmic experience.

This is more easily classified and religious terrorism. But here, with Trump and the U.S. federal government, we have a state acting this way.

In slow-walking Trump’s felony charges, Democrats and the Department of Justice failed the American people and the world.
