Was expecting it to be Liberty University and wasn’t surprised.
Anyway, in 2026, the Trump administration is conducting 1L job interviews with a White House official sitting in to vet the political loyalty of each candidate.

Liberty University School of Law is not ranked in the top 100 law schools (not even close), but I guess it’s still technically a “law school” so that headline is only misleading and not wholly fiction

It would be stupid for any law student to do any kind of work or internship with the current US Government administration. That has big possibility to degrade their education. For sure lead them astray to being a lawyer.

Well, it’s just the Jerry Falwell university (for now). But this time next year, it could be Yale, Stanford, and Harvard at the rate that country is crumbling.
Discriminating based on political affiliation is illegal. But they know that. They are looking to be sued so they can bring a case in court and get the conservative leaning supreme court to rule that discriminating on politics in hiring is okay.

Why would anyone join a MAGA aligned law school? MAGA loses every case they have. They can’t even indict that ham sandwich guy.
Sadly, this is the reality at mainstream US law schools, not just at Liberty. The Federalist Society has spent 43 years weaving their way into the fabric of American law schools. They have a very influential network, and it has made it hard to get prestigious clerkships, internships, and scholarships if you aren’t a member.
It’s really easy to dismiss this as just something happening at some irrelevant law school, but it’s eerily similar to what is happening everywhere.

I worked at Liberty University for 15 years, and yeah, this isn’t surprising. That place is an absolute shithole.
I made many thousands sitting in my office looking at my phone, so knowing I took that from some MAGAt is at least some sort of reassurance working for such a terrible place.
