Just another example of hypocrisy, just wait till China does something and then some get outraged while labor is joining the evil empire in their ridiculous offensive wars.
Cant talk about international law when you back the evil empire that keeps doing war crimes for funsies

LNP under Dutton will probably send whatever Trump asks for. So this is marginally better.. just shows how each way Albo operates though.

I don’t remember such discussions when we sent over a wedgetail to help Ukraine.

We signed up for war in the middle east the moment we made our entire energy system dependent on that region. Once that happened our involvement was guaranteed.Â
Whether through fossil fuels or renewables or a mix of both an energy independent Australia could give many thousand less f***s about the war and whats going on over there.Â

On the utterly pathetic and disingenuous excuse we’re protecting citizens
According to Aust govt data there’s ~15,000 Australian citizens who reside in Lebanon at any one time, more in their summer
There’s about ~25,000 Aust citizens resident in UAE at any time apparently
There are almost 250,000 Australians of Lebanese heritage in Australia with direct family connection to that country, but very few at all from the UAE
So we’re sending troops and material to defend ‘citizens’ in UAE from Iranian attacks, where the UAE also host US bases, the US are with Israel the main belligerents in this illegal formally undeclared war
Though can we send the same to Lebanon to protect citizens from Israeli bombing and missiles? Where many homes, hospitals and civilian installations are under attack from Israel? Are these citizens less deserving of protection?
UAE is a specifically undemocratic society that has a worse human rights record than Lebanon and where there is very little historical, cultural or familial ties to Australia. Just rich people retreating to escape paying taxes it seems
For one we claim to be defending citizens in the other we leave it to be destroyed by Israel. One has oil the other not
Completely disingenuous and hollow BS excuse instead of just admitting we are now at war

It’s funny that the U.S is crawling back to NATO after they thought they could solo Afghanistan 2.0. Actually, it’s worse than Afghanistan – the Taliban couldn’t choke global oil and logistics at their whim, and Iran is almost 3 times as big as Afghanistan’s sandbox.

It’s a war. This is what is supposed to happen. It’s the literal reason we have this tech. Get it in the air and test everything we have. That’s also what wards a good for.
